Singer-songwriter Marike Broekema (1986) has been making music since she was eleven. With her warm vocals and clean basslines she's telling her stories. Since then, she has been the front woman of several bands and projects. She is mainly focussing on her project Puur Zang at this moment, with which she gives workshops in chakra singing, gives laydown concerts and gives individual vocal coaching. However, the singer-songwriter in Marike still remains. So when Marike got pregnant from her firstborn, it was natural to write a song for him. The song became the popsong 'Worden wie je bent'. For Marike, this is the first time that she wrote a song in her native language Dutch. She collaborated with her friends Kerwin Pauptit and Harm-Jan Westra to make the song as it is now. A statement from Marike and her husband to their son. That they will help him to become who he is.
