PaulWetz recently joined the hfn family and turned a lot of heads with his incredibly assured ‘Misfits’ single followed up by ‘People’ and ‘Bruises’. 

Having grown up in Germany’s Black Forest, the young German singer-songwriter has developed an uncanny skill for genius pop hooks and effecting melodies, all tied together with sublime production skills. 

To accompany the Paul’s own remix the german electronic duo Flowers On Monday, also based in the Black Forest, undertakes a new remix treatment for Bruises. 

The Flowers on Monday remix is pulling out ghostly echoes, and bringing the vocal very much to the fore, until a shuffling groove drops to take the whole track to a new plane.

The fourth vinyl release on Manjumasi comes from veteran producer Padre (@padreuk), aka Pete Lazonby. Baby Steps & Grand Gestures showcases five diverse tracks of deeply evocative music coming together as a tight two-sided concept.

The Baby Steps open with the crystalline innocence of Jacob’s Divine and conclude with the smooth primordial bubblings of Origin of Species.

The Grand Gestures begin with the harnessed dark energy of Feed Your Eye. Sensuous chills and thrills continue with Thousand Fingers, and Last Dance completes the narrative in some romantic sci-fi ballroom.

Step into a moonlit river of sound. Session XIX — Lanterns Over the Water drifts through the heart of Japan’s shrine and lantern traditions, weaving non‐lexical shrine chorus hums, shakuhachi sighs, koto glissandi, and taiko heartbeat pulses into a deep, meditative lounge journey.
Inspired by Kyoto’s Gion nights, coastal lantern festivals, and the still elegance of Shinto shrine waters, this session captures a ritual calm where fireflies, incense smoke, and floating lights move as one.
