Rat Race

Hailing from the border of South East London in the depths of Lewisham, growing up on the borders of Kent Stef Taylor began writing songs at the start of lockdown. Without being shut off from the outside world, he admits; he would never have started to release his own music.

Earning his psychology degree, Stef currently works as a primary school teacher. His true passion, alongside working with young minds, has always lied in music.

Stefs blend of soulful pop derives from a background of his eclectic taste, from The Beatles to Buddy Holly to Carole King. The classic approach to Stef's songwriting is plain to hear, and these prolific artisans of the craft have clearly had an influence upon his works. The music centres around Taylors versatile vocals, which boast a range likened to the rich baritone vocals of Sam Fender to the supple falsetto of Justin Vernon.

Having released four singles to date, Stef has much new music to come throughout 2021 set to take him right through the summer. He will take these songs on the road with him to perform to all those who will listen. It's going to be his breakout year and he is ready to take it by the horns.
