This mix will be exploring auditory localization and how the temporal lobes are involved in the process. The temporal lobes are crucial for auditory localization, a process that involves identifying the source of a sound. The primary auditory cortex, located in the superior temporal gyrus of the temporal lobe, receives and processes raw auditory information. More specifically, the brain uses binaural cues like differences in sound intensity (loudness) and timing (arrival time) between the two ears to locate a sound.
