For this episode of @DarkScienceElectro we check in with friend-of-the-show Rob Witschakowski, better known as @The-Exaltics

Starting in 2006 with the founding of the project by Nico Jagiella and Rob, The Exaltics have been a driving force in the popularization of the beloved genre we call Electro. The following year in 2007, after the inception of The Exaltics project, the duo created the label @Solar_One_Music - The imprint has released music from many amazing producers such as MSRG, Heinrich Mueller, Gesloten Cirkel, Obergman, Franck Kartell, Nullptr, Das Muster, ERP, Ekman, Gosub, and many more. In addition, there are a few sub-labels that are utilized as well, such as Between Places, Rattleznake, Unhöerbar. DJ Tankard (@finlaytankard on Instagram) is a disc jockey and producer hailing from the South West of Britain. He is a member of the Lizard Tapes (@lizard_tapes on Instagram) collective, which aims to showcase all kinds of underground sounds via a podcast, live events and  releases, the very first of which is dropping soon!! He also helps run Exeter's 'Beats and Bass Society', a group which aims to help upcoming student DJs find the tools and oppurtunities to practice and enter the club scene.


Tankard has previously appeared on podcasts such as Dark Science Electro, МОСОБЛЭЛЕКТРО and Brick Sweat Records, and has a recent track released on FU.ME records. He's no stranger to the stage either, having supported the likes of Mall Grab, Kettama and Skin on Skin in his local Exeter, alongside being a regular DJ at local clubs and events.


As for the mix itself, you can expect a range of flavours from the early 90s to the freshest releases that help illustrate DJ Tankard's style as you'd hear it on the dancefloor. Look forward to miami bass, straight-up electro and g-tech.

POLYXENE starts by introducing some fresh raw bumping electro releases including few older ones. After 26:00 min Rise Black continues with a strictly vinyl mix through revolutionary electro, raw drumachines and industrial electro cuts.

Rise Black aka Ocitin is an artist from Greece but landed in Spain. As producer he has a minimalist, experimental and raw sound that puts in his Electro tracks for several labels. His sessions are a proper mixture between the Electro, Techno, Acid and EBM, a shot for the dance floor and the brains. Also he’s part of the Spanish label NNY Records, Underground Music Xperience and Radio UMX for the support of new faces of Electro and Techno.
