A few words from the publisher: "Eight extended compositions on Michal Wolski's new record “La Mer” (Sea) recall those special moments when sound becomes a movement of a kinetic sculpture, an abstract painting, or a cinematic report from the Arctic solitude. Personal and introvert, yet simultaneously carrying certain universal message (cosmic loneliness? molecular life?), sound space created by Wolski manages to seduce listener and inhale her/him for whole 75 minutes. Associations with sculptural work with matter are not purely arbitrary. On his fourth full-length, artist consciously shapes complex and saturated form, further developing - on evidence on his earlier releases - penchant for exploring darker alleys of synthesis and sound design. In his varied and consistent narration, one can find a whole range of references to noblest protoplasts such as Pan Sonic, Rhythm & Sound, or even Vatican Shadow’s desert manipulation. However, the key to album’s consistency does not rely on the power of quote, it rather manifests itself in sheer scale and depth of imagined atmospheres and non-existent geographies. Josef Gaard has been a part of the Unrush team since the beginning. His penchant for both ambient music as well as dance-floor oriented styles has landed him at some of the best venues across Berlin and Europe. His recent record, "2929", saw him working with artists such as Kalawila and Dorisburg and was released to international acclaim. Here he has used a collection of tracks that have had profound personal meaning to him since Unrush started, and have carried him through numerous blistering winters. Listen in and feel yourself begin to thaw...

Alkini is a DJ and producer from Rennes, France. Together with his brother @charpimusic, they manage the Kornarion label, where he released his first EP under his Alkini alias. He found his inspiration for this mix during the last summer, tripping in the wilderness of Slovenia, surrounded by the trees, a stream and a campfire. Here is the journey, a two hour selection which goes between deep ambient, experimental and more spaced moments. Enjoy !

Stellar Series Episode 44 - Alkini (A Talk With The Four Elements)

It is undeniable that we are living in uncertain times. For those of us failing to fit the patriarchal, neoliberalist mould we have lost hope in the future. We can see capitalism is not working but we cannot yet envisage an alternative. We discover that the stability we were instructed to obtain whether it be financial, political or ecological, is fleeting, if at all. The resulting anxiety is an instrument of neoliberalism that prevents many of us from being able to raise consciousness of the structural injustices that alienate us.

In a world where security is no longer feasible, the only constant we can rely on is change. Barad teaches us that the world is a dynamic process of intra-activity and materialisation, an ongoing ebb and flow of agency. The Buddhist Law of Impermanence proves that nothing in this world is eternal.

Regardless of ones point of reference we can understand that every aspect of life, physical and mental is in flux and perhaps this transience is the only thing we can depend on.

Each month we invite an artist to ruminate on these ideas and create an hour of relief from these anxieties. A temporary suspension of reality, where the listener can speculate on alternate modes of existence that reject hetero- patriarchal systems of oppression.

This month we have invited @vedis_klara (aka @klara_vedis) to respond to this concept.

Sigo con mi exploración de los diferentes caminos del techno, que ya no es techno, es electrónica pausada o acelerada, depende del rango de bpms que se utilice, de ahí el nombre de este mix, "90 x 180". Los tempos son tan lejanos que se juntan y se pueden mezclar, pareciendo en ocasiones Drum and bass (180)y en otras dub techno hiperlento (90).
El resultado carece de etiquetas pero creo que es algo personal e hipnótico.

I continue my exploration of the different paths of Techno. In this mix, I wanted to explore the different speeds in which you can find music that could still be categorised as Techno. The title, 90x180 is a reflection of how tempos blend to a point where your mind feels alienated with the rhythm. Slow dub blending with very fast rhythms harmonically fighting each other. The result, hard to classify, is a very hypnotic and personal set.
