NPO RADIO 2 DEBUT NEW REELWORLD SOUND

The biggest radio station in the Netherlands, NPO Radio 2, is heading into spring with a brand new on air sound from ReelWorld.

The custom jingle package features 17 newly composed themes as well as news and utility elements.

Head of Imaging at NPO Radio 2, Guido Sprenger, said: "For Radio 2 we were looking for different imaging that really connected with the music that we're playing and the diversity of sounds and voices that define our station. ReelWorld surprised us with jingles ranging from Motown to Grunge, from sounds like The Weeknd to Fleetwood Mac. Together we constructed a sound that is unique and extremely recognisable."

The creative also includes a series of innovative ‘mash up’ mixes that combine Radio 2’s diverse playlist within jingles and talk over beds.

ReelWorld Managing Director Anthony Gay said: “NPO Radio 2 is a prestigious European radio brand with a clear vision. To support Guido, Basyl and the team with their objectives has been a huge honour. This package really kick starts our 2021 and there’s a lot more to come!”

The new sound is part of a long term partnership between NPO Radio 2 and ReelWorld which will see them create further updates across the coming years.

The MediaCityUK based production company with its roots in Seattle, USA, continues to develop the new sound for BBC Local Radio in the UK as well as RTE 2fm in Ireland and enjoys successful partnerships with Europe’s biggest broadcasters.

NPO Radio 2 joins the long list of European broadcasters using ReelWorld jingles and imaging that already includes Heart UK, NRK P1 Norway, BBC Radio 1, Los 40 Spain, and RTL Berlin.

Talpa Radio’s brand new radio station XM has launched with a new Wisebuddah jingle package. The new sound is a collaboration between Wisebuddah and the XM Production Team, who post-produced the vocals. The original package was produced by Wisebuddah for Germany’s Planet Radio.

NRK mP3 get new ReelWorld imaging 

Norway's public broadcaster, NRK mP3 have launched a new station sound package this week from ReelWorld.

The station, which targets young listeners, has received a new set of CHR themes featuring high impact voiceovers.

NRK's Christer Johan Petterson-Dahl said - "NRK mP3 has always been the best sounding CHR station for young people in Norway and this new package allows us to maintain that position. It's a great package that fits the music and hosts on NRK mP3. We love it!"

The project saw NRK mP3 continue their long standing relationship with ReelWorld producer Ben Marks - "It's always a great pleasure to work with NRK mP3. The challenge this time was to make things feel more natural. To marry that huge contemporary VO sound with the conversational delivery that's in keeping with spoken Norwegian.  I couldn't be happier with the result. It was so much fun to produce!"

ReelWorld work with some of Europe's biggest youth broadcasters including RTE 2FM in Ireland, the UK's BBC Radio 1 and Bayern 3 in Germany.

German public broadcasting station, 1LIVE, have launched an extensive overhaul of their station sound and imaging, teaming up with London-based production company Wisebuddah for the first time.

Every day, nearly 3 million people listen to the Westdeutscher Rundfunk (WDR) station across North-Rhine Westphalia, tuning in for some of the most varied and progressive content on German radio. 

Reflecting this, Wisebuddah have produced a package that features over 35 distinct compositions, ranging from IDs to Show Openers and talkover Beds, along with a brand-new set of Information Elements and Sweepers. The new audio identity is then all brought together with the station’s brand-new sonic logo, which has been designed to underpin the uniqueness of the German station.

David Mannheim, Brand Manager, 1LIVE added: “For the “new 1LIVE” we were looking for an individual and unmistakable package that sounds urban, modern, warm, young, dynamic, but by no means cheap or stressful. In addition, the new sound package should pick up on current music trends and optimally adapt to the 1LIVE playlist. In the first meetings we explained to the Wisebuddah team our philosophy and conveyed what DNA 1LIVE carries. 

This balancing act - intense and dynamic, but not sounding stressful or annoying - was implemented very well by Wisebuddah. The final elements are very easy to drive and combine optimally with the range of content that 1LIVE displays daily in the program: events, comedies, topics from the sector, current news and listener interaction.”

Phil Tozer, Wisebuddah’s Managing Director, said: “David and the team asked us to create a wide-ranging package that really represented 1LIVE and its listeners and wanted us (like them) to be courageous and unconventional. Wisebuddah 1LIVE 2020

98FM’s new sound is an evolution of the 2018 branding and reflects recent developments in the station’s format and playlist to incorporate more of the biggest hits through a number of years, along with today’s best music. 
 
The package blends new custom elements (including a brand-new TOTH, fresh Show Openers for Dublin Talks and 98FM’s Big Breakast, and a new News theme), with a selection of IDs taken from Wisebuddah’s Antenne Bayern 2020 package. 
 
The current distinct 98FM sonic trigger is retained; and is designed to flexibly project the station’s branding by adapting to musical style, key and tempo to fit any song intro, bed or promo.
 
Pat Gill, Imaging Director at 98FM, said: “We’re really excited to get this package on-air. We wanted to build on the elements of our existing sound and I think we’ve created something really fresh. It has been great fun to work with the Wisebuddah team again to strengthen the 98FM brand in Dublin.”
