Revolution is Diplo's follow up to the meme-defining Express Yourself EP. Teaming up with an all new cast of friends including Mike Posner, RiFF RAFF, Travis Porter, Action Bronson and many more , Diplo has produced one of the most cutting edge dance EP's in recent memory. "Biggie Bounce" continues where "Express Yourself" left off, creating a new NOLA bounce anthem with Travis Porter, restating Diplo's claim to the king of twerk. Diplo aims for the clouds with "Revolution," allowing Kai's vocal delivery to soar above the stadium trap instrumental. "Crown" lets loose one of the hardest drops of Diplo's career only to have him pull it back in with Mike Posner's light hearted vocals. The EP is rounded out with "Rock Steady", an homage to old school hip hop featuring verses from Action Bronson, Mr MFN esquire and Mad Decent's own RiFF RAFF. Each track on the Revolution EP highlights a different aspect of Diplo's production style and displays why he's one of the most sought after producers in the world.

The second single from Keys N Krates forthcoming Every Nite EP, "Understand Why" combines loopy, pitched up 90s house vocals, knocking rap drums, epic synths, big bass, and haunting voices to form a genre defying banger.  

The track undoubtedly elaborates on the Keys N Krates sound developed in tracks like “Treat Me Right" and “Dum Dee Dum," which use morphed vocal samples and 808s to create tension-filled rap beats that are as anthemic as they are strange. "Dum Dee Dum" has remained a mainstay in fellow 808 enthusiast's DJ sets like Baauer and RL Grime. "Understand Why" is no different, having already picked up big support from the likes of Hudson Mohawke, Just Blaze and Salva, to name a few.

A rally cry for our times, CIVIL.i.AM says Black Lives Matter, it says I Can't Breathe and and it says My Hands Are Up Don't Shoot. Incorporating Native American samples with Trap beats the song blends the voices/sounds and imagery of oppressed groups. Trap music is born of the myth that the only good job in the hood is dealing drugs so the drug dealer culture becomes generational and unquestionable if not outright celebrated. Likewise the Native American is perhaps the single most oppressed group in North America with less than 1% of US population on a land they used to number in the tens of millions. With a story line from the perspective of a victim of racial profiling, police abuse, as a man of color in America there is not one violent lyric throughout although the tone is unflinching in its call for immediate change of social norms.

Ever since Megaciph was young he remembers young Black men being beaten or killed by police with impunity. This song is inspired by the murders of Trayvon Martin, Shawn Bell, Oscar Grant, Mike Brown, and Eric Garner, and the seemingly endless list of known and unknown victims of police violence. CIVIL.i.AM is a protest song in the spirit of active nonviolence. Megaciph filmed a music video on a busy Union Square Saturday morning the weekend before Christmas 2014. The group decided to gift wrap protest signs and label them for various victims of police violence to symbolize that they are not forgotten during the special family gatherings and holidays.  Men and women of all ages and backgrounds laid on the concrete, held up protest signs, drew chalk outlines and filled them in with victims names and gathered for over an hour without a permit. The group later joined the Millions March NYC rally at Washington Square park and marched for #BlackLivesMatter and #ICantBreathe actions of civil unrest.

CIVIL.i.AM is from the perspective of every man, woman and child that lives among the 99% of populations and has to work to maintain their way of live and food security. People of color are primarily at risk since their poverty levels are in no way proportionate to their European counterparts; the song certainly has a leftist lean to it, a social lens reminiscent of Marcus Garvey or Malcolm X. Meanwhile the hook is all Dr. King and Mahatma Ghandi from the pleading tone to the lyrics,

            "I am a civilized man/
            I have a family, together we have plans
            I work hard, I vote, I want to buy land
            and do my civic duty ah ah civil I am"

Anyone listening to CIVIL.i.AM is sure to identify with its call for justice and Human Rights.

“Prospect Avenue” is my new solo album, finished after 2 years of studio work, and ready for international release. These are my stories of teaching, learning and evolving in new millennium Brooklyn: an homage to New York City offered in a time of distress, a love letter laced with co-dependence, a tribute to social and civil servants, a prayer for students and teachers. It is written from the hallways of our public schools, from the stages of shuttered venues, from the expanses of bridges traversed on bicycle, from the bandstand and the cypher. From the front stoop of the house on 18th Street, where I’ve resided for 13 years, I’ve documented the city changing while growing within its confines; journeying to touch distant points on the globe, always returning, culminating with a ride on the R train to Prospect Avenue.

A pioneer of West Coast bass music, Stephan has played at iconic festivals like Coachella, Lightning in a Bottle, and Envision, and supported Pretty Lights on the Illumination tour. His production credits include a wide range of artists such as Benny Benassi, Showtek, Emancipator, and Griz.

Recently, Stephan’s focus has shifted to Bigger Than Us and BOSA, two projects rapidly gaining momentum. Bigger Than Us, a collaboration with acclaimed singer Marieme, blends dance music with immersive experiences, while BOSA offers a unique twist to world-inspired house and dance music. Both are at the forefront of Stephan's creative energy, with exciting new releases on the way.

Stephan has also been working with A-List artists such as A$AP Rocky, Brockhampton, Russ, Run The Jewles, 24kGolden, Mike Posner and more for over a decade, utilizing his wide skill set and ability to take on complex projects efficiently.
