We’ve got a special treat for you on this WUMP Wednesday, so shut out the noise of the world and press play. 

The fusion of @Pi-Wrecks & @RecycledFunk is a match made in electro-soul heaven, and despite the song title, the love for these musicians is burning HOT in our hearts. Recycled Funk’s iconic guitar licks and saxophone accents blend seamlessly with Pi Wrecks’ signature textures, resulting in a piece that tells a story of longing through sheaths of blue emotion. Time and time again, Pi Wrecks creates art that aims to convey a mood or emotion to foster human connection, focusing on the journey instead of “the big drop.” Combining this depth of emotion with the brilliant instrumentation of Recycled Funk, “Love Has Died” takes us inward and invites us to FEEL. Subtle progressions carry us into the different sections, layering instrumentation and crescendoing bass textures to sneakily get your whole body moving as the purposeful percussion hits home. When the instrument melodies temporarily dissolve into the background toward the end, we’re given an experimental climax of glitchy bassy goodness that’ll bring a smile to your face in cathartic release.

Moon Frog - Summer Folds (ProJect Aspect Remix)

The Clipping Paths series compiled by Dov1 continues with a version themed on all things influenced by Dub / Reggae / Island Vibes. The roster featured are some familiar Muti Music artists , along with some fresh faces for the future. The compilation kicks off in the 85BPM range and as the compilation progresses, moves it’s way down to deeper 70BPM Dubstep and softer vibes. We hope you feel a little bit of the dub, a little bit of the skank and bounce and then a good amount of soft and heady chill vibes.

The original Clipping Paths compilation in 2007 set a tone for many emerging sounds from Muti Music and featured ‘then’ new artists Ooah, Vibesquad, Audiovoid, Nanda, Timonkey, Slidecamp and Muti regulars like An-ten-nae and Dov1, needless to say it has been quoted by many as an influence and has proven to help define new sounds that have blown up in the years that followed.

Stephan Jacobs has established himself as one of the most innovative and prolific producers in electronic music. With his incredible attention to detail and innate understanding of melody, Jacobs has crafted a style all his own laying evocative soundscapes and driving rhythms over a foundation of bass. A pioneer of West Coast bass music, Jacobs is a veteran of the festival circuit lending his talents to noteworthy events such as Van’s Warped Tour, Coachella, Lightning in a Bottle, Identity Festival, Envision, and a direct support role for Pretty Lights on the Illumination tour. His list of collaborations and official remix credits include artists such as Benny Benassi, Showtek, Emancipator, Run DMT, Ill-Gates, James Zabiela, DVBBS, Martin Garrix, and Griz.
