We're excited to finally announce the first release (in a long line) of several artists in the SubCarbon Records family.
Subcarbon has selected the tastiest and the crunchiest artists in order to serve you the perfect dish! All kinds of styles are mixed in it. We’ve tried deciding on a selection that will make you travel the world of bass music.
 
Let's talk a little bit about the main artists of this release!

First of all, the master of originality beats, Stenchman. He has been a major name of the Dubstep scene from the very beginning... What could we add to that? We're honoured to have him for the first release of Subcarbon Records, and you'll understand why when listening to his remix.

And now, the guy who is going to make you wait for the drop like a little girl would be waiting for her prom night : Dubloadz! The energy this guy puts into every drop is simply insane. He’s a rising star of the Dubstep scene.

We'll finish the introductions with Lifecycle. His productions are of great value! Never disappointing, he's got the support of many greats producers. Go check his whole work and have a sneak preview of how music will sound in the future.

The rest of the release highlights emergent artists with a big backpack of talent. We're really happy to add Kong Speaks, 4bstr4ck3er, Klaxn and Moukratis to the Subcarbon Familly!

This week MalLabel Music is taking us on another ride through the digitalis of cyberspace as Houston, Texas', Luzcid rips us through the fabric of space time in his heavy hitting and epic new single, Space Decoder. 

The jet lag sure doesn't seem to catch up with this man as there just seems to be no stopping him as he sails effortlessly across the Bass Music scene on the wings of his inspirational bassy goods. Dropping bombs on many an unsuspecting dance floor along the way as he glides through the charts on pretty much any blog you can name, MalLabel Music is stoked to pop another one off for the list after the success of February's red hot single, 'Love'. Relying more on the vibe than the genre, Luzcid takes his tracks in directions best left out of the technical classifications lest you be interested in watching your brain explode with the semantics of classifying what could be considered the abstract art of the Electronic Music world. 

His new single, Space Decoder begins with encrypted messages to the outer world before the crunk of multiple cutting edge bass designs kick the subs into high gear as they dance effortlessly with one another. A hype breakdown and one drop later and the mood shifts into some heavy hitting, glitched out Grime business. This one is fire through and through.

The road to finding your own "sound" as a music producer can be very long and uncertain.  You often have no idea what your defining sound actually is until after you've made it.  It takes a ton of time, experimentation, dedication, and inspiration to stumble upon that unique and almost intangible thing that can be accredited to you as "your sound" and I believe I've finally found it! BUT It isn't this...

Pre-release I sent demos for this EP across the web to various labels and blogs where I got very consistent and at the time disheartening feedback like..."This sounds like ALL other dubstep," or "not unique enough."  This was extremely eye opening, and listening back to these songs now I absolutely agree!  I let my idols and perception of what is "popular" in the scene right now dictate too many of my creative decisions and that led to well produced (at least I think so) but very sterile and almost generic music.  All of this negative feedback and rejection was a huge gut check moment for me, but ended up being a blessing in disguise.  In the following weeks I essentially re-invented myself as a producer.  I threw everything out the window and began building again from scratch while utilizing the essential technical skills I was able to hone in on, and develop in the making of the projects on my "Degenerate - EP."  I made some breakthroughs in terms of sound design as well as learned some really awesome new tricks in audio manipulation through pure experimentation.  All of this along with my newly improved technical ability allowed me to create a song and a style that was not just well produced, but truly unique in every aspect (The song I am referring to will be released in the near future via AIA).  Without the unanimous rejection of my "Degenerate - EP" I would not have been pushed to break through all of my barriers and delve deeper into my creative mind where I was able to birth what I truly believe is "My Sound."

That being said, my "Degenerate - EP" represents a very important time of searching and experimenting with different ideas and styles of production as well as "vibes" that have ultimately led to me being able to take it one step further, and create something that is truly unique that I can call my own.  Although this EP did not garner any attention from big blogs or labels I still felt it was worth sharing, and as a thank you to every single one of YOU who has supported me in this journey thus far I wanted to give it away for free! Stephan Jacobs has earned a reputation as one of electronic music’s most innovative and prolific producers, known for his blend of evocative soundscapes, driving rhythms, and bass-heavy foundations. His attention to detail and melodic instincts distinguish his work, both in the studio and during high-energy live performances that captivate festival crowds and intimate audiences alike.

A pioneer of West Coast bass music, Stephan has played at iconic festivals like Coachella, Lightning in a Bottle, and Envision, and supported Pretty Lights on the Illumination tour. His production credits include a wide range of artists such as Benny Benassi, Showtek, Emancipator, and Griz.

Recently, Stephan’s focus has shifted to Bigger Than Us and BOSA, two projects rapidly gaining momentum. Bigger Than Us, a collaboration with acclaimed singer Marieme, blends dance music with immersive experiences, while BOSA offers a unique twist to world-inspired house and dance music. Both are at the forefront of Stephan's creative energy, with exciting new releases on the way.

Stephan has also been working with A-List artists such as A$AP Rocky, Brockhampton, Russ, Run The Jewles, 24kGolden, Mike Posner and more for over a decade, utilizing his wide skill set and ability to take on complex projects efficiently.
