About the track:

One of the best things about the traveling circus that is the music biz is meeting those who also wish to share their shine after watching you share yours.
'Me against Me', conceptually was spawned from one of those moments. We were in SF on a triple-late-nt-day-break with a couple of bros from Sactown, when conversation lead us to the discovery that one was professional Boxer and 2 time world champion Kickboxer who goes by the name, Erik "The Hitman" Reagan. He was the nicest, unassuming fella you could ever meet. After fielding about an hour of questions (as both Bob and I have always wondered about the squared circle), I asked him how he handled all the sh*t talking those cats do in the ring, being that he's so nice? He looked at me smiled and said, "Burke, by the time I get to the ring I've already won or lost the fight. I was never fighting them, it was always me against me. This is common knowledge in places like on the golf course and in the weight room however, coming from someone who was the best in the world at something so intense, it was like a light went off when talking about the hustle and bustle of this music game.
Later that week we're in LA for a show and spending the day working on a collaboration (this song you hear) with our homie and beat-smith mogul, Stephan Jacobs. So I threw out a text to our old homie Souleye just to let we were in the area working on a new track. He and I got into a nice reunion chat, he ended up at the studio and the rest is in the tune. The theme is relevant to all of us. The only person we need to be better than is the person we were yesterday.

También dice que es una independiente que trabaja para diferentes asociaciones criminales a nivel internacional. También dice que es terrorista pero también que trabaja como voluntaria por la seguridad del planeta. Athena se asume a sí misma como una mentirosa profesional. Ella hace todo lo posible para rapear consciente y comprometida. Decidió hacerle entender a la gente que la mayoría de los raperos mienten en sus canciones, sin embargo, rara vez lo admiten. Lo que los convierte en mitómanos. Ella fue influenciada por estos raperos que dictaron el código de la calle. Ella creyó en ellos para darse cuenta de que ni siquiera eran gánsteres y estaba realmente decepcionada con estos maestros que en realidad eran impostores. Estaba muy decepcionada porque le gustaban los raperos y sus canciones porque sus experiencias de vida se parecían a las de ella. Myriamblada alias athena is an m.c who has a problem of multiple personalities she claims to work for the c.i.a as well as being the madre of the mara salvatrucha more than being an m.p (military police). She also says she is an independent who works for different criminal associations at the international level. She also says that she is a terorist but also that she works as a volunteer for the safety of the planet. Athena assumes herself as a professional liar. She does her best to rap conscious and engaged. She decided to make people understand that most rappers lie in their songs, however they rarely admit it. Which makes them mythomaniacs. She was influenced by these rappers who dictated the street code. She believed in them to realize that they weren't even gansters and she was really disappointed with these teachers who were in fact imposters. She was very disappointed because she liked rappers and their songs because their life experiences resembled hers. However, they taught her to sing rap so she decides to confront them with hundreds of freestyles. By telling the story of Athena which is based on my life but there are truths and there are falsehoods. My style of rapping is different from all the others. The goal is to wake people up to stop believing what everyone else is saying.

Elle a cru en eux pour s'apercevoir que c'était même pas des gansters et elle a été vraiment déçu de ces professeurs qui était en fait des imposteurs. Elle aimait les rapeurs et leurs chansons car leurs expériences de vie ressemblaient a la sienne. plusieurs années plus tard elle décide de les confronter avec des centaines de freestyle. En racontant l'histoir d'Athena qui est basé sur ma vie mais il y a du vrais et il y a du faux. Ne crois pas tous ce que t'entend c le thème...
