This track is demo of the recent preset/patch pack I put together at Ithaca Audio that features no less than 116 presets using Native Instruments' excellent synthesizer FM8. 

The pack was created for production label Samplephonics. 

Each and every patch comes complete with various effects, morphing and manipulation options and intelligently labelled and tagged for simple implementation. Moonlight came out of an old harmonium that was too wheezy to make the final mix. A bed of vocal harmonies from Stephanie Rae gently holds the melody. At its midpoint, humming electronic drones fade into a moment of a cappella before the piece grows again in layers of voices, warm synth lines and field recordings of Parisian church bells, tinkling pianos and glockenspiels.

Layla Brown - Woman's Work (Live)

Andrew W Rae worked with Ithaca and ad agency Anomaly to create a lighthearted and energetic audio visual remix of classic TV themes from shows available on Freeview.

Working with such a varied and contrasting range of themes, the challenge was to create a seamless mix which kept a strong musical narrative from start to finish. Time-stretching, tempo and pitch-shifting plus automated audio filters were just some of the effects used to acheive the end result.

The TV advert's visuals were designed to complement the audio with an equally lighthearted, fast-paced split-screen representation of the music remix, both seamlessly synced to tie the whole thing together.
