Singer, songwriter, and emerging music producer — I’ve been a professional vocalist in Perth for over 25 years. In 2016, I finally took the leap and began creating my own original music, turning a lifelong dream into reality.

The path hasn’t been easy. I’ve faced my share of challenges — setbacks, doubts, and energy that tried to hold me back. But through it all, music remained my anchor and my medicine. It’s where I transmute pain into purpose, and obstacles into art.

I create from the soul. My music doesn’t follow rules — I blend genres, bend expectations, and let spirit lead. While I’m drawn to House, Tech House, Dance, and EDM, I’m always exploring new sounds and collaborations that feel aligned.

Each track is a reflection of my truth — raw, emotive, and charged with intention. I don’t make music for the masses. I make music to move energy as well as your heart & soul.

The Vienna-based label INSIST MUSIC was founded in 2010 by Patrick Kunkel and Dirk Redmer. The label basically presents modern rough and groovy tech-house music, produced by many German and international artists, such as Lonya & Audio Junkies, Ingo Boss, Emanuel Satie, Sascha Sonido, 7th Star, Broombeck, Matt Star and – of course – by Patrick Kunkel and Dirk Redmer themselves.

Kunkel and Redmer have been part of the German electronic music culture for more than 15 years. After working toghether both as DJs and hosts in various clubs in Frankfurt, and already running different labels, they decided the time would now be right to found INSIST MUSIC.

They can rely on many year’s of experience. While Dirk Redmer already worked as resident-dj in famous clubs like the U60311 in Frankfurt and played all over central Europe, Patrick Kunkel is working for the world famous company "Cocoon Records", where he is responsible for digital distributions, for over 5 years.
Both artists have worked together on many different projects over the last 15 years. " Sexy Pie" with Lenny Kravitz' sax-player, Harlod Todd, being only one of many.

Now they re-united to form the next big thing in German music-biz: INSIST MUSIC.

UK born and raised Lee Smith aka Le3Roy got his passion for music at a very young age. His passion quickly became a hobby, with most of his spare time spent exploring some of the best clubs and bars in the UK. This has definitely had an influence on his unique style, and has helped him to develop his skills and knowledge. Le3Roy’s music career began in his hometown of Stoke-On-Trent where he was involved in numerous events, with his first organised club night Fiesta Salute gaining traction and popularity before he moved to Australia.

In 2013 Lee settled in Perth, and after meeting like-minded people that shared the same passion, he decided to start a monthly event called Addiction.

As soon as Addiction started running events it quickly became famous for its rooftop parties in the CBD. Under the Addiction name, Lee has organised boat parties, warehouse parties, bush doofs, and held events at Geisha Bar - known as one of the top spots to go on a night out. Being involved with Addiction events has helped Lee to become well known amongst the house and techno community in Perth.

Lee has also performed in many bars and clubs around town, has played on local radio RTRFM, and been involved in helping to promote and organise other local events. Additionally, he has supported acts such as Dubfire, Nicole Moudaber, Cristoph, Solee, Format B, Dale Howard, Shiba San, Tiga and many more.

Not only is Lee a powerhouse behind the decks, he has turned his focus towards the production side of music - working tirelessly in his studio, with his first track being released in October.

EDM mostly I guess.. its a bit of House, hip-hop, breaks, D & B, trance, even sum elements of funk and metal... very eclectic.
Pretty much just write my beats @ home in my lounge room, no fancy studio 4 me.. I would luv to upgrade eventually.. but happy being my own Lounge room DJ 4 now.👌🤣

Shannon attended her first rave in 1993 & was instantly hooked. Her early days were spent on Perth dance floors at Buzz Bar, DC’s, Krush, Geisha, Aqua, and Frost Bites, soaking up the energy of a scene that would shape her for life. Those nights sparked a lifelong love for music, & the  underground community. 

She eventually followed the music to the UK, where she lived in London through the early 2000s and bought her first pair of Technics 1210s. Weekends were spent crate-digging for vinyl and exploring iconic venues like Bedrock, Renaissance, The Cross, Fabric, & Camden Palace, fully immersed in the progressive and trance sounds of that era. She never played publicly back then, just mixed for fun and for the love of it.

After moving home to Perth to raise her family, life shifted focus, but the passion for music never faded. Two decades later, Shanwa began sharing what had always been part of her. She’s started carving her path in Perth’s underground scene, DJing at Blossom, Blazing Swan (TBC and Funbrella theme camps), Pachamama’s Disconnect to Reconnect, Earthdance, Noise Contour’s Viking bush doof, & Above All Else, where she opened for MOS. 

A familiar face long before stepping back behind the decks, Shanwa has thrown herself into the community, helping with door and gate duties & creating/painting artworks for Bioma’s Full Circle festivals. Her love of music, dedication & creativity earned her the recent title of resident DJ for Bioma events, with a growing list of gigs and collaborations in the works. She has also made a guest appearance on RTRFM’s Loony Choons earlier in the year. She has made a guest appearance on RTRFM’s Loony Choons & was invited to join the Red Ginger Music team ahead of summer, with many regular gigs she’s looking forward to.

Her sets drift between styles with ease, tied together by her love of deep, melodic, & progressive sounds, Shanwa reads the room intuitively & delivers sets that connect. With an upcoming Bioma/Above All Else collaboration event supporting Ezequiel Arias, she continues to grow as both an artist and a contributor to a scene that’s always felt like home.
