I am a free range sound explorer. My music making encompasses many genres from homemade instruments, free improv under the name, Incense Merchants, pop tunes, software development, audio installations and soundtracks. 

Grew up playing piano. Listened to the stones then Bowie then the Talking Heads then Parliament funkadelic. That was through the 70s into the 80s. Throw in some Eno, Iggy and King Crimson. Went to music school, got into electronic music (not EDM). 

I’ve been the recording engineer for a university school of music for 20 years.

Jack Warnock is a multi-instrumentalist/singer from Maghera, Co. Derry. He is currently Artist in Residence for Cultúrlann Uí Chanáin, An tAcadamh Ceoil and IMBOLC International Music Festival.

As Guitar/Piano/Vocalist in the traditional groups Cóiriú and Meargánta, Jack has performed in the final of Siansa Gael Linn at the National Concert Hall, Dublin on multiple occasions, and at the Royal Albert Hall, London. He is part of The Doc Flock who appeared at the Celtic Colours International Festival in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia in October 2016. Jack won the An Ré Nua (Solo Singing) competition in the lead-up to Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann, 2013 in Derry and in 2018 Jack was nominated for the prestigious BBC Young Folk Award. Later that year he won the Senior Accompaniment Competition at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann. He is the guitarist and singer with hot new trad group, ‘TRODA’.

Throughout his career, he has shared the stage with many fantastic musicians, playing support for We Banjo 3, Ulaid, Lúnasa and more. Jack has also provided accompaniment for musicians such as Liz Doherty, The Vallely Brothers and Troy MacGillivray. He is a graduate of Ulster University, Magee, with a 1st Class Honours in Irish with Music.
