The Counterterraism Mix series was founded to help share and promote artists within the Slow Techno, Indie Dance and Dark Disco genres - Now with a growing listenership, we have cast the net wider, encompassing a plethora of styles including EBM, Italo Disco, Nu Disco and guitar-heavy rifting tracks with Acid House overtones.

Within the series Duncan, Karl, Robbie and Katrin alternate in offering up a monthly Counterterraism residents mix which aims to take you on an hour-long journey through the wide range of styles they enjoy.

Los Angeles based imprint Velvet Bikini delivers a new album by The Jack Cardigan Orchestra and Joseph Matick this May, entitled ‘WESTERN PINK’ and comprised of ten original psychedelia infused compositions.
Arranged and performed by “The Jack Cardigan Orchestra and Joseph Matick,” a web of performers and contributors from 10 years of ideation, the collection of tracks that would eventually make up the album arrived in the inbox of Velvet Bikini label head, Luke C., amongst 50 other recordings, voice notes, scenes, and random auditory captures. The folder of audio sketched out a fascinating compendium that was cut, compiled, and edited by Luke into an LP that plays out as the current oeuvre of the ‘WESTERN PINK’ filmic universe.
Like its overarching film, the 10 tracks touch on symbolism and prophecy via intriguing takes on ambient, noise, outsider folk, psych rock, and trip-hop adjacent grooves. It’s a unique body of work that offers an esoteric aesthetic designed to captivate and challenge.
‘WESTERN PINK’ will be available digitally and as a limited-edition VHS and cassette release.
Joseph Matick is a Paris-based poet and filmmaker. ‘WESTERN PINK’ is his first offering for Velvet Bikini C/O Avec Jack.

Slang is a new perspective on the rich collaborative efforts that unite DJ Deep & Roman Poncet. Over the last two years, their studio work has resulted in an eclectic myriad of productions. May it be on Rekids, on Tresor Records as Adventice, on Desire as Sergie Rezza and now as Slang, their music is always unfamiliar and far-reaching into different sources of inspiration.
Afro percussions, dubbed out processing, field recordings and house chords come together under the form of these poems, contemplative at times and measured at others.
