She founded and has been at the head of pivotal techno imprint BPitch Control and already was a resident in one of her city’s most acclaimed clubs, Tresor, in 1992 (age 22). And although Ellen Allien’s heart still lies in the techno scene, she has been leaning more and more frequently towards other musical styles in her sets, showing off an impeccable taste and knowledge of dance music’s history. Bringing a classic Techno & House formula focused on extended loops & dub sound's, A duo originally from Venezuela but actually based in Barcelona (SP). Founders of the vinyl imprint BUDARE.

In the current times very few artists have been able to make a revival and continue the epic sounds of the Dub/Techno rise in the underground scene of the 90’s. These two underrated wizards are actually doing it In the most flawless way possible. 

Gustavo Romano & Emidio Falconi are “Moreon & Baffa”, originally from Venezuela (South America). Relocated in Barcelona. Spain, both have been working with the underground techno scene in their home country since early 2000’s. Known for exposing a unique "avant-garde" music selection as vinyl Dj’s since more than sixteen years. 

Having almost 2 decades literally “under the ground” now they are making noise in the global scene, with no doubt there are many reasons for the upcoming rise of their acts.

Oriundo de la capital musical de Venezuela. Tratando de reducir al máximo y sin caer en muchos detalles se puede recalcar que empieza como participe activo de la escena musical electrónica de ese país desde finales del siglo pasado, en un principio desarrollando parte de la producción de uno de los primeros programas radiales dedicados a la electrónica en el país y paso a paso perfeccionando el arte del manejo de 2 o 3 bandejas y una mesa (manual y analógicamente hablando), Al mismo tiempo que forja un sonido y estilo particular que le caracteriza desde hace mas de 15 años, sin dar su brazo a torcer.
Co/Fundador en el 2007 de uno de los primeros sellos digitales de Techno en Venezuela y hoy día de la nueva marca limitada al vinilo, la cual ha ganado el apoyo de reconocidas luminarias globales del genero y que lleva por nombre el autóctono BUDARE. Para no olvidarse así jamas de las raíces y a su vez exponerlas al mundo.
Reside actualmente en Barcelona. España, y en conjunto con Emidio Falconi (Baffa) llevan el duo que forma parte de la nueva ola de estandartes del Dub/Techno a nivel mundial, que han publicado sus trabajos en archi-reconocidas marcas musicales como Visionquest, Social Experiment, Subwax BCN, No.19 entre otros. 
Es defensor a capa y espada del formato 12", de una exposición honesta y sin "trucos de marketing" que considera como el cáncer del arte actual. Gira con sus proyectos alrededor del mundo pero no se desvela por hacerlo en cualquier sitio y cada fin de semana, esta al mando de la programación de uno de los clubs mas esperados del circuito en la ciudad condal y en el catalogo de su principal proyecto (M&B.) hay un sin fin de obras en lista de espera. Por lo cual de este particular ejemplar aun queda mucho por contar.

As the final few kick drums pounded out of the speakers on Monday night, one person waved their shirt wildly. An inflatable ball soared through the air. Everyone was dancing. Steve Rachmad's Sunday night slot as STERAC was so impressive that we rated it as one of the weekend's key performances. As the rain lashed down outside, causing the temporary closure of the outdoor arenas, the place to be was under cover listening to the Dutch master. The dance floor was a heaving throng when the beat kicked back in on James Ruskin's "Work," the high point of a superb set.

Brooklyn's skilled, genre defying hip hop producer Vincent Williams aka DJ Spinna is an incredible DJ. We are honored to have him over for the next mix in the store series. 
The avid record collector usually visits record stores for hours and hours to make sure he doesn't leave anything untouched. This also happens today... During this afternoon and evening we've touched and shared a broad spectrum of releases. This mix includes 25 of his picks!

DJ Spinna began experimenting with turntables at age 11 and began his recording career in 1994 as a member of the the underground hip hop group Jigmastas. Throughout his career he has broken down musical barriers between the worlds of hip hop, house, soul and jazz working with everyone from Mos Def, Masta Ace, Pharoahe Monch and Eminem, to Eric Roberson, N'dea Davenport, and Mary Mary to Stevie Wonder, Roy Ayers and Sergio Mendes.

In an age where any newcomer can use their connections to be propelled to the homepages of every other website, it’s nice to see figures like Dorian Paic and his raum…musik. label discreetly get the dues they’ve patiently earned over the years. Whereas the formers enjoy their few months or years of fame before being dismissed as fads and swept away by the next big thing, the Frankfurt native has always been doing his own thing, whether it went in or out of fashion. For sure, he’s had plenty of time to find his sound in a life whose most part has been dedicated to music: from working in record stores and going to the seminal Dorian Gray club in Frankfurt airport in the 1990s, to becoming one of his scene’s most in-demand DJ — not many can claim to have held a Ibiza residency for the past 12 years and played on every continent, and fewer less are still acknowledged by the more discerning heads —, this sound has patiently shaped itself into something curiously befitting Paic’s understated character.
Same goes for his role as raum…musik label head: celebrating its 20th birthday this year, the label is all about letting the music do the talking, which it will surely do with its upcoming anniversary compilation. Peak-time bangers sit next to after-hours and warm-up rollers in its discography, faithful to a philosophy that favours a party’s overall excellence over a few reckless hands-in-the-air moments. Not that Dorian won’t make you reach for the lasers — he’ll just wait for the right time to do so. Accordingly, raum…musik rarely taps the many headliners that are part of Dorian’s entourage. Yet it’s one of those labels you know to check out whether the producer rings a bell or not — as Dorian puts it, it’s all about the trusted bond the label has built over the years with its listeners. In fact, Perlon aside, it’s hard to think of any other German label that has been active for so long — a testament to the label’s commitment to carving its own way in the ever-changing, trend-hopping wilderness that is the electronic music landscape. In short, Dorian and raum have got something that no amount of PR can garner: legacy.

So with the 20th birthday landmark around the corner — not mentioning last year’s 100th release on the label — it was due time for MEOKO to catch up with Dorian.
