Launching the new DT:Premiere feature on the Death Techno, we introduce the leading track from DEAD CERT. Records forthcoming release.

After a few months of hold ups and now a new home based distributor in the UK, DEAD CERT. hit back with another quality underground fuelled various artist release called "Black Mail V."

It has seen support from the likes of Pfirter, Arnaud Le Texier, Sam Paganini, Luigi Madonna, Industrialyzer, PVS, Axel Karakasis, Dave Ellesmere and Fernanda Martins.

Respected and established Techno pioneer from Southeast Europe, owner of TMM Records, Vegim brings his trademark energy to the opening track with a stabbing lead part and fearsome thick claps that crack like thunder. The 90’s influenced digital texture and looping FX samples provide a dramatic ambience which could be described as the perfect storm.

French Techno label Club Poison is a relatively new project by 14anger and already making a great impression.

The track we picked out by Commuter is called “Vegan Revenge” and forthcoming on their next various artists EP called “Cyanide.”

The track begins with a tame but tense groove signified by an increasing high pitched drone that keeps you on your toes. Quickly you are greeted with a whipping and lashing sound that resembles a lion being tamed. This, added to the low, bending, growls underneath is a perfect match. It wades forward into a suspenseful breakdown before really going crazy and launching into high octane mode with a nice splattering of a modular workout.

It’s already picked up a setlist feature from Samuli Kemppi and Juho Kusti of the brilliant Deep Space Helsinki Radio Show in Finland and should definitely be checked out.

This DT:Premiere is taken from the new EP by Manchester’s rising talent Callum Plant, who has been gaining strong support from Truncate and James Ruskin amongst others.

The title track “Synonym” really did it for us and it’s a fantastic all round collection that also features a remix by Monocline label boss Re:Axis.

Ill Bomb Records ran by Owen Sands and Justin Kase is a firm favourite here at DT, who now run things from Raleigh, North Carolina by way of New York, USA.

The second cut is from Barcelona based @Miki-Craven and owner of @DeadRoseRecords. His track “P.S.M.F” is top draw work and with EPs on Dynamic Reflection, remixing the likes of Funk D’Void on Soma to Danny Tenaglia selecting his remix for his recent Balance Music mix CD, he is another artist to watch closely.

The track has an unrelenting power and a euphoric feel to boot from some tasty chords set in the background. Always pushing forward it’s another floor worker that really hits the spot.

We have a DT:Premiere to share from the exquisite and now Barcelona based label @MindTripRec and ran by the legend that is Pfirter (@info-52). 

The label has featured a monarchy of modern Techno talent including Chris Liebing, Lucy, Oscar Mulero to simply scratch the surface.

The EP includes 3 heaving originals from the owner himself and the remix we selected is supplied by @Tensal, a new project of Hector Sandoval who is also one half of the mighty @Exium.

It won’t take you long to appreciate why this is one of the finest labels out there and to get acquainted with the back catalogue of brain bending works.

We have a firecracker for this DT:Premiere from exciting Spanish artist @C-System, owner of @MFM-Records and co-owner of @Morforecs alongside Horacio Cruz. He is resident DJ at the Industrial COPERA in his hometown of Granada where he has played alongside Carl Cox, Dave Clarke to John Digweed.

His original track taken from the release is driving from the word go with a small subdued break before relaunching into the tectonic ride again. Throw in an electro edge with a feeling of tense chaos for a great combination that will tear any floor in two. The remix comes from the excellent Italian DJ/producer @Electrorites to round off a super single release.

Introducing a young UK label called Tough Luck Records that likes to blur the lines of House and Techno with this their 5th release by Jack Wickham who has featured on the huge Get Physical and has forthcoming music on Visionquest for example.

We selected the jacking remix from @NikolaGala who shows off his versatile production skills with this distinctly Techno remix that shows an element of soul and hypnotic style. After his success on more House orientated releases for Radio Slave’s Rekids and Hypercolour, his new sound venture has already landed works on Dustin Zahn’s Enemy Records and Marco Bailey’s MBR Limited imprint.

Austrian label @Drowne Records are on the verge of their new release next week. Ran by Altberg & Tony Vegazz, they have a great underground ethos featuring artists like Sutter Cane, Chris Colburn, XHEI to Krenzlin and many more.

The latest “Textures EP” from DT favourite @RicardoGardunoMusic who we featured recently, gets the remix treatment from Netherlands based rising star and Affin stalwart, @KeithCarnal.

The track itself gets a stomping and slightly more melody driven twist, with sparse atmospherics that create a dreamy ambience. Slowly building tension and a euphoric edge take hold, with subtle soundscapes and hidden details, this can work in many stages of a DJ set and was our choice for this “DT:Premiere.”

Swedish artist and National Radio presenter @Sandra-Mosh came to our attention a few months ago with her new label venture @Mosh-Musik. The title track from her forthcoming release called “Skogsrave” actually translates to “A rave in the woods” and was a no brainer for this DT:Premiere.

It begins with an infectious stomping rhythm, that is later stripped back to a soulful, hypnotic and melodic piece. Very much a peak time number, we are highly impressed and will be keeping a close eye on her productions to come as this sets a great tone for what is to come.

The highly regarded @BeAsOneimprint ran by @ShlomiAber has been undergoing a transition of late, moving into more serious Techno and featuring artists such as Eduardo De La Calle, Truncate, Jeroen Search and Markus Suckut for example. It’s an exciting prospect to see the switch happening with top quality releases flying out of the now Barcelona based stable.

The forthcoming release comes from the label boss himself and shows first-hand the sounds he is now championing after a star studded back catalogue on legendary labels like R&S, Josh Wink’s Ovum to Sven Väth’s Cocoon.

Title track “Warfare” was selected for this DT:Premiere as the tough and dancefloor focused sound has industrial elements as it builds with tension before blasting into some huge tribal drum breaks. Perfect for catching people off guard and to add a surprise element in a DJ set.

Part two from the Out Of Place (@out-of-place-735125464) records camp is finally here. Based in Croatia, the new label project is ran by Volster and @Miss_Sunshine who introduces her new alias Insolate following a release highly respected imprint from DJ Deep called Deeply Rooted in France.

Renew is a vinyl only release that covers hypnotic and glitchy sounds to energetic acid influenced flows. The second original track we chose for this DT:Premiere goes by “Deep In The Shades” and it’s moody, driving style is totally compelling. The eerie atmosphere and modular twangs make this a real functional DJ tool with heaps of character.

Canadian label Eternal Drive makes a statement before a well earned break following a string of releases featuring artists like Audio Injection, Flug, Alex Bau, Subjected, Brendon Moeller and Luis Flores amongst many others.

Making their debut by way of collaboration on the labels fourteenth release are Ninna V from Portugal and Virulent in the USA. Solo productions on the likes of Illegal Alien, Naked Lunch, !Organism, Rheostatus and Ill Bomb Records to name a few, have put these two firmly on the map.

Label boss Jay Zoney turns his hand and puts in another top quality remix as the fourth track adding the fourth dimension to this outstanding package.

Selected for this DT:Premiere we have Underground Liberation owner Ritzi Lee, a highly respected icon of Dutch Techno, who appears fresh off the back of a release for Bas Mooy’s Mord imprint. Other releases with Gary Beck’s Bek Audio, Tommy Four Seven’s 47, Labrynth and Planet Rhythm show his pedigree as he turns in a bolshy and hypnotic rework of the lead track called “Grey”.

Techno two-piece Slam (Stuart McMillan & Orde Meikle) bring the new double vinyl album Machine Cut Noise to the forefront next month Stuart and Orde's day-to-day proceedings consist of maximum time spent on the road, in airports and hotels; which also forms the creative hub for their music-making. It's this transitory state that largely dominates the vibe on Machine Cut Noise.

With each of the album's eleven tracks handed its own unique energy, this concept is probably depicted most prevalently in "Psalm". There is a deep emotional core found within this programmed 7.5-minute piece. It conjures a direction that 'has been paved by the machines which surround us'. A technophile's voyage into the unknown we strongly recommend getting on board with.

Machine Cut Noise comes out on 28th October on Slam's own Soma Records.

The next instalment on Afterlife comes from Vaal with remixes by Locked Groove and Baikal. ’Wander To Hell’ is a three track EP, with three versions of the same track that each encapsulate the spirit of Afterlife in their own individual way.

Heralding from a rock n’roll and jazz background Vaal is unperturbed by the strict rules that define & guard electronic music. ‘Wander To Hell’ is stripped back and gentle, highlighting the emotive side of the label. The combination of alluring vocals and beautiful reverberating chords along with the ebb and flow of distortion makes it a composition that grips the listener from start to finish.
Belgian talent Locked Groove seeks the dancefloor with his remix. He brings back a little familiarity, the vocal remains, but is now present amongst an assortment of synths and percussion, pushing through to darker, heavier depths.
Baikal makes multi layered electronic music simultaneously for the heart, mind and feet. His version of ‘Wander To Hell’ is truly spellbinding, featuring a hypnotic groove that glides seamlessly through a continuum of time and space.

After releasing their magnificent album Contemporary Spaces in January this year on @Dynamic-Reflection, the superb Abstract Division boys are preparing the final part of remix packages to be released in consecutive months.

The conclusive roster of remixers includes @Perc, one vinyl and one digital only from Matrixxman, a collaboration from SHDW with Obscure Shape and Ben Buitendijk respectively.

For our DT:Premiere from Part 2, we chose the remix by Perc of “Glide“. Ali should need no introduction, being one of the UK’s leading Techno producers, he continually follows his own path, pushing a multitude of musical boundaries. His rework here has a throbbing, energetic and electro fuelled soul. Dark and haunting atmospherics fill out the track combined with industrial elements take this way into the depths.

After rolling out an abstract, industrial and equally interesting new album called I’m Made of Stars on his new label project, Time Traveler has put together the first remix package laced with some tough Techno stalwarts. Brian Sanhaji, Bas Mooy, Black Asteroid and DJ Hyperactive are enlisted for some rejigging and knob twiddling each bringing something very different from the last.

From the heavy duty package we selected the remix by Chicago legend DJ Hyperactive who is always on point, having appeared on labels such as CLR, Figure and Los Angeles’ Droid for example. The result for “Chronicles of 1957” is a crunchy, jacking, acid soaked effort, that rides a raw club sound and roars with stomping energy.
