We don't know much about Ponty Mython, but their sound is right at home on this eclectic record. A freeform flea-market of samples strewn around a broken beat, strung together around a catchy melody, 'Pinto La Meah' has an optimistic feel, a subtly nostalgic sense of travel and discovery that suits the global groove collecting theme.

I wanted to do this one for a long time. All my favourite softrock classics in one continous mix, spiced up with some genre-like tunes from the here and now. 
While traveling on a german train the other day, apperently lightning struck (the sky was blue as far as I could see) causing the train to stop for several hours out in the open. While lynch mob parties began to form with the intention to take it out on the conductor, I was still mixing away with my headphones on and a stupid smile on my face - quite out of context actually. In fact I go so into it that I almost forgot to get of at Berlin main station. 
So here it is, hope you have as much fun listening as I had putting it togehter.

Optimo Music is delighted to release a first album by Fantastic Twins (formerly known as The Twins). We’ll let them tell you the story behind this inspired and beguiling record - 

Obakodomo (Au Balcon Du Monde) is a soundtrack I created for a piece of contemporary dance, performed by two dancers for a young audience from the age of 4. It is the story of an imaginary journey in Antartica where two explorers go on an adventure. They encounter a colony of penguins and will progressively learn to understand their habits and respect their environment. Essentially, Au Balcon Du Monde is a metaphor of how to exist next to each other, how to share a territory, how to learn to live together and share resources. 

The scenography and stage accessories were designed in a minimalistic and non-obvious form to leave all the space for imagination. The penguins were made of translucent material to provide light effects and were programmed to move in a swaying motion, allowing interaction with the dancers and the music. LED system could be wireless piloted. 

With the soundtrack, I wanted to create an atmosphere that would immediately transport the children into this terra nova - a poetical space, like a cold sphere, where the strange meets the frightening and the playful. Translating the immense vs the small, the far-off vs the near, the collective vs the individual, the strange vs the familiar or the cold vs the heat. My intention was to follow the thread of the story in a narrative, yet non-caricatural way. Music for children doesn’t have to be “childish”. Children love to be scared or even just challenged. They love to love and react instantly to what they hear through their emotions. Ultimately, the soundtrack aims to provide different levels of “reading” so that it becomes something more universal. So we, adults, just have to accept the invitation.

"Class Of Taxonomy" is the second EP by Italian dj/producer and tireless music digger A-Tweed, a new concept odd work dedicated to extinct animals and human self-destructive behaviours.

Antonio De Oto aka A-Tweed was born in the upland region of Molise, Southern Italy and after skipping several towns is now based in Rome since 2014.
His music is marked by dark and trippy acid vibes with afrofuturism, cosmic disco, global bass, tropical house, psychedelic tribalism, weird downbeats and 360° worldwide sample digging. 

Each track of the EP is inspired by three different extinct animals.
Opening track "Plesiosaurus Social Security" with its no sense title and its uneasy dark and lo-fi vibes reflect A-Tweed's passion for Scottish Highlands foggy landscapes and tribalism.
Could that Plesiosaurus be "Nessie" from Loch Ness? Maybe...
"Dodo Crash Report", which can also count on an impressive and astonishing remix by Peruvian Berlin based duo Dengue Dengue Dengue, is a metallic wonky arp tune  dedicated to Mauritian extinct bird dodo. Techno meets tribal disco with a powerful bassline and thumping percussive grooves.

Quagga, South-African zebra extinct in 1883, gets its revenge in third track "Zebra Xing" which is a tribal downbeat tune with eerie organic and drum samples and spooky melodies has the purpose of make reflect about human being role in ambiental and zoological disasters. 
This track is also remixed by gifted Japanese Ground from Osaka based label Chill Mountain. Such a good way to close this "acid weird slow disco" EP.
