Windsor Bellephone is the pseudonym of a British-American composer, who was raised in the remote pine forests of rural Alabama. Active from roughly 2000 to 2015, Bellephone self-recorded an estimated 1,300 songs in total isolation.

Bellephone's Goth-tinged debut LP, Red Devil, released in 2003, showed early adoption of the now-ubiquitous EDM production style. Following a move to Philadelphia, where he gained a small cult following, 2005's The Insect Play was a concept album based loosely on Karel Čapek's satirical play of the same name.

In 2006, Bellephone released Poppy Seed, a polished break-up album, and it appeared his style was being cleaned up for commercial appeal. However, fans were taken aback by the release of the wild, unpolished Vajra in 2012. Unfortunately, a computer meltdown erased the follow-up, Love Craft, mid-production, so an unfinished early mix was released as an official bootleg in 2013.

Bellephone's last release before taking an extended hiatus from recording was a technicolor EP called Miserichord in 2016, but was  a stylistic detour, apparently hinting at another project.
