Gaku (real name Yue Tei) was the original lead singer of "New Pants" in the 1990s, sparking China's earliest punk cultural wave.

In 1998, seeking new possibilities, he moved to Japan, where Japan's vibrant underground electronic music scene soon reshaped his creative direction.

In 2005, he formed the electro-pop duo "Vital Staff" with Japanese keyboardist Chia, signing with the Italian label The Family Records in 2007 and releasing two EPs, while also performing solo DJ sets in major clubs across Japan.

In 2007, during the early days of internet radio, he launched his own online station, bringing together over 80 talented DJs from around the world for collaboration. The project gained significant attention, leading to interviews with Japan's major media outlets like Nikkei and CNET Japan.

In 2009, he fused electronic and rock music to form the electro-rock band "19 Mirrors", which performed at Tokyo's top live houses and earned widespread acclaim. He later continued his work as a producer and DJ.

In 2016, Gaku returned to China, performing live shows and DJ sets at major clubs across China.

In 2021, Gaku embraced a new direction by forming "Nighticket" with XYZ.
