Dawntempo is my take on an alternate late night vibe...  when at the end of a night out, the sky is teasing purple, and people are ready to sit down to connect with friends they are faced with a choice… stay out, or head home.  If they can find a place where the vibes are chill, and there’s some comfy seating, then the party is elongated over smiles, laughter, and blissed out emotional beats.

And if the scene is just enticing enough… that critical mass makes it to sunrise to imprint their most magical highlight reel memories.

I believe (true) downtempo is a lost art and that this early morning slot is the perfect place for its triumphant return as people dance, cuddle or converse while FEELING beautiful bass music fueling forever friendships.

I've been known as the sunrise guy for years, but I've come to believe that it's really all about the dawn...

After being on the road again the last 3 months with multiple amazing events and with a few very special moments in my heart I decided it’s time again to share (parts of) my live sets again. I played a set a month ago at Public Works in San Francisco and it was an absolute magical night. One out of many the last few months to be honest…..so here you’ll find part of the set that I played that night. My next one (51) will be my live recorded set at AfrikaBurn of late April of this year. So a little more patience on that one. I hope you’ll like this one. It has a few of my currently favourites in it. Listen to it with good company and don’t forget to (sun)shine in your life. Life is way too short…..I just recently noticed that with a sudden death of a close friend’s dad and another close friend got diagnosed with cancer…..let’s be grateful for what we have because life is not infinite. What a beautiful morning it was at the River Stage of Mushroom Valley Festival 2023! The gentle warmth of the rising sun was on us as we journeyed through some of my favourite epic sounds and uplifting music. We danced, we smiled, we connected with the music and the hope of a new day. I’m so excited to share my Just Chuck (Sunrise Set) project with you.

For those of you that have not yet experienced the Pumpkin phenomenon you’re in for a treat! This week the L.A.-based DJ/producer, a.k.a. Nicholas Alvarado, is our very special guest on the RIPEcast! 

We admit to being a little late to the Pumpkin party having just heard him for the first time at Lightening in Bottle this year, but Nicholas has been dazzling dance crowds in his native Los Angeles and at events like L.I.B. for years.  "Electrorganic mood music for romance and espionage", "Lovesauce", "Bouncy Lovehop" and "Folktronica"; Pumpkin's style is truly unique and defies any conventional description. And after experiencing his mesmerizing set on a gorgeous Sunday afternoon under the billowing ribbons of the Woogie stage, Zach Moore returned from L.I.B. determined to book the talented Mr. Alvarado for a RIPEcast. Lucky for us, he was well up for it!
