I have been working occasionally for years (at least since 2017) on this track, looking for a sound that could be acceptably evocative and hypnotic. Needless to continue at this point. I am unable to improve it with my skills. 

Heliopolis (Ηλιούπολις) was  an Ancient Egyptian city, the capital of a district of Lower Egypt in Pharaonic times (located north-east of Cairo, nothing remains of it today). It was of great importance in the religious life, due to the deities worshipped there: especially Ra, a solar deity who was later destinated to occupy a central position in various religions, including Roman. It is to this solar cult that the city owes its Greek name.

We are back with our second Elektorni vinyl release, this time with three original cuts from the legend Mesak (Klakson, Orson) and a remix from Picture (Help Recordings, Kalahari Oyster Cult)! Release date 1.11.2024.

The A-side opens with Mutella, a slapping electro track powered by a growling bassline and dripping with gothic emotion. Next up is Ei Damagea, a smooth slice of electrohypnotism calling to you from an otherworldly dimension inhabited by floaty rhythms and quirky synth stabs. Flip the record, and Mesak flexes his versatility with the 155 bpm piece Musantropia, cruising top down and top speed somewhere between electro, IDM and D&B. Fresh! The journey ends with Picture’s mesmerising remix taking Musantropia deep into an eight-minute techno meditation reminiscent of Basic Channel material, but with an Århusian take on the sound.

This wonderful track starts with a heavenly atmosphere blended with a nice progressive drive, dreamy pads and uprising pluck notes.
The breakdown is a calm journey that features an spectacular and nostalgic guitar lead line, alongside ethereal pads merged with an ascending pure melody to reach an elating drop.

'Inner Sanctum III' is a Jazz Fusion Track in collaboration with my friend John  Corsaro. Joining John, an excellent drummer and percussionist, on this track was an absolute blast and just an honour to play with such a great player. I actually posted this track up 8 years ago, but on a chance hearing of it being played randomly on Youtube recently, I decided to give it another airing. Theory.

I wrote this forty years ago as part of the "Scenes of St. Francis" small-town song anthology and thought it might be fun to post as fall is winding down but before the Christmas season gets into full swing.  St. Francis, Kansas is a little prairie town nestled in a shallow river valley and has an abundance of trees, mostly cottonwoods, but a few hardwoods that stand out especially in the fall. And with the trees was an abundance of squirrels always playing chase or hide and seek when they weren't getting into mischief.  They needed a song, and with my daughters being so young, I wanted to make it in the form of a children's song that they could sing along to.  As adult women, they still like to sing along when they hear it which is a good thing since my own singing voice has largely depleted with age.  But it is a nice reminder that once upon a time I could sing:) Rescued and remixed from an old but faithful cassette tape.

Squirrel Song lyrics:

This time, I worked with singing bowls, tongue drums, custom percussions and electronics. This track is the first one, it is based on a tongue drums improvisation and then I added some electronics. This song began its life some 20 years ago recorded on Mark's old skool keyboard workstation as a bass line and drum beat, accentuated by a synth melody playing over some electric piano. It sat as that basic version until just recently, when Mark had gotten into horn arrangements, and wanted to try some out, thus creating the impetus for reviving this old tune. Plus, he wanted to get the Eclectic Collective to play the guitar and keys parts on it for a little extra jazzy pizzazz.
He turned it over to the rest of the EC gang with a pretty clear vision of what he wanted structurally. Stephen was first up, adding his driving guitar to the fist part of every verse. Josh deftly chimed in with the response line in every verse. JJ then came into the mix last and sprinkled his magic electric piano and other keys throughout. After all of our parts were in the can, Mark went to work dutifully editing and mixing what you hear as the final product. Stephen then did his pro mastering work on it to add a little bit more shine.
 This was a lot of fun to put together. It doesn't feature all of the EC, but the other guys will be on many upcoming creations. We hope you enjoy listening to this as much as we enjoyed creating it.

Clyde's Glide (Eclectic Collective)

Another one done from the album Wou-Wou & the Wormling, Bitzone, Stricknice, and I have been working on for almost 5 years now! You can definitely hear some of those 2020 themes in these songs. I feel like the world is starting to change and new themes will start emerging, so we had better finish up soon, lol. There are definitely two more songs from the set still to be released, and maybe a bonus track, and then we will be done…It has been a dream to work with these guys! I wonder what's next?

Please enjoy my latest offering to you all. It is another seagoing inspired track. Over the years I have seen many deep ocean whales in their natural setting but only once have I seen a pod and it was awesome. There must of been at least twenty of them spread across the bow at distance. I immediately reported my sightings to the captain who immediately stopped engines.  He went on to explain that in this situation you have two choices you can go hard to starboard or port depending on our postion relative to the whales course or simply stop the engines and take in the view explaining the chances of seeing another pod this large is very remote. this all happened long before smartphones came along so we had no way of recording the event. This took place when I was nineteen and I am now 71 and it is a memory that has stayed with me all these years. So I say to all our fantastic young people .... You are at the stage in your life were you are creating your memories .... .don't waste a minute. Thank you all for the great support you give me.... love and peace..
