Hey there, music enthusiasts! I'm Oz a hobbyist musician who's been strumming the strings of my guitar since my teenage years. Music has always been my passion, weaving its melodies through every chapter of my life. From the intricate rhythms of Oriental music to the rebellious energy of pop-punk, the timeless allure of blues, the groove of funk, and the nostalgia of electronic sounds from the '80s and '90s, I find inspiration in a diverse array of genres.

For me, music is more than just sound – it's a language of emotions, a canvas where I paint my feelings and experiences. The power of music to evoke and express emotions never ceases to amaze me. I am a finger-style guitarist living on the Texas high plains.  At the core of my music is melody that is inspired and informed by my Christian faith, family, friends, and countless influences through the years from the great composers, to jazz, folk, rock, Latin, Celtic, and the many fine musicians I have come to love on the Cloud, some I have been privileged to collaborate with. I like Soundcloud because it's a friendly community for sharing our music. When I comment on a track, I like to say something about how you wrote, performed or produced it. I have musically diverse interests: pop/rock, jazz-rock fusion, prog & alternative rock, blues, classical and neoclassical, to mention some. Main instrument is guitar; I'm not a keyboard player or singer, but hopefully I can do enough there to make my work sound ok.

- took much accordion lessons in my childhood
- than playing bass accordion in an orchestra
- than learning basics of drum playing by myself
- than took guitar lessons for a few years
- than took a little bit african drums lessons
- than playing a few years in a band as a drummer
- than took some sax lessons
- than learning a bit keys and synths by myself
- than fighting to catch right tones on vocals....
- producing cover songs most since 2013
in between again and again doing nothing with music many years....
whether that has borne fruit it's your decision...
sure I'm not a professional but music shapes my life...

Hello dear Soundcloud listeners,

I'm still determined to continue producing music, the music of Pier Will, which can only be heard on Soundcloud and which can also be recorded... for now.

The world of music is rapidly moving towards a huge upheaval where the true musician will very quickly become "rare," or even more and more of a shadow, a peculiarity, a memory. This time is not so far away, as AI takes a predominant place in everything that touches us and surrounds us and in Music, this can already be heard very clearly!

Apparently, everyone is taking this lightly, and the few diehards are being sneered at as anti-progress terrorists, for now. I already have two work computers disconnected from the internet, which house my software and everything I need to work. No more updates for them to work properly... updates are only necessary if you need to connect! Another computer is dedicated solely to internet connection and will be used exclusively for streaming the tracks.

This decision has serious consequences for my production, as there are no more options to add anything to it. It's a gamble, but for me, it's an obligation to remain completely independent and free from AI.

Je suis toujours déterminé à continuer à produire de la musique, celle de Pier Will, que l'on ne peut écouter que sur Soundcloud et qui peut aussi être enregistrée… pour l'instant.

Le monde de la musique s'achemine rapidement vers un bouleversement majeur où le véritable musicien deviendra très vite « rare », voire de plus en plus une ombre, une singularité, un souvenir. Ce temps n'est pas si lointain, car l'IA prend une place prépondérante dans tout ce qui nous touche et nous entoure, et en musique, cela se voit déjà très clairement !

Apparemment, tout le monde prend cela à la légère, et les quelques irréductibles sont méprisés comme des terroristes anti-progrès, pour l'instant. J'ai déjà deux ordinateurs de travail déconnectés d'Internet, qui hébergent mes logiciels et tout ce dont j'ai besoin pour travailler. Plus besoin de mises à jour pour qu'ils fonctionnent correctement… les mises à jour ne sont nécessaires que si vous avez besoin de vous connecter ! Un autre ordinateur est dédié uniquement à la connexion Internet et sera utilisé exclusivement pour le streaming des morceaux.

Cette décision a de graves conséquences sur ma production, car il n'y a plus aucune possibilité d'y ajouter quoi que ce soit. C'est un pari risqué, mais pour moi, c'est une obligation de rester totalement indépendant et libre de toute IA.
