Fuse is a disco at 208 rue Blaes in the Marolles district of the Belgian capital Brussels. The business was opened in 1994 and has a capacity of 800 people.

The location of the current Fuse initially housed a neighborhood cinema that changed its name several times: Cinema Blaes (1925-1933), Cinema Iris (1934-1940) and finally Cinema R.A.F. (1947-71). Later Le Disque Rouge, a disco where many Spaniards came here. This business was taken over by the West Flemish Thierry Coppens and Peter Decuypere, who turned it into disco Fuse in 1994.

Coppens has organized the gay party La Demence since 1989, which has taken place every month in the Fuse since then. Together with Decuypere he saw a bright future for the music genre techno and the Fuse became one of the best techno clubs in the world. The business was also named best club in Belgium by the Belgian entertainment magazine Nightcode and DJ Pierre as the best Belgian resident DJ.

Peter Decuypere left Fuse in 1997 to focus on his event I Love Techno in Ghent. Thierry Coppens sold discotheque Fuse at the end of 2007 to his friends Nick Ramoudt and Dominique Martens in order to dedicate himself entirely to La Demence.

In 2013, Fuse, as the best Belgian discotheque, finished 34th on the DJ Magazine's list of 100 best clubs in the world. Fuse was praised for its timelessness and quirky character and "the new lasers and LED screens describe the location as a place where ET would feel at home."

A lot has happened since Ramiro Lopez took his first steps in music. Already at a young age, he spent all his days listening to radio programs and compilations, but in 1996 he started to share his passion for music around Spain's clubs. Working as a DJ prior to becoming a producer, he introduced himself slowly into the national circuit, acquiring skills on the turntables and learning how to lead the dance floor. Growing popularity led him to be part of Toledo's Family Club for several years and experimenting with different styles there every week alongside international recognised artists.

His musical creativity and innovation has always been latent though out his life. In around 2006, Ramiro made the leap to music production, researching and acquiring knowledge, experiences, sharing concerns with other artists and gradually defining his melody. Creation became a way of life for Ramiro and he is now unstoppable, working to get better every single day. His wholehearted dedication at work is obtaining great results releasing on: Drumcode (“Clap Your Hands” alongside Coyu), INTEC (“This & That” it was included within Carl Cox’s “New Year Weapons” published by Mixmag), Octopus Recordings, Toolroom Trax, Terminal M, SCI + TEC, Bedrock (Nicole Moudaber remixed his banger “That’s Not Happening”), Cecille, Noir, Defected or Tronic amongst many others.  And of course he is an active part in Sincopat and the Suara platform, as well as alongside Arjun Vagale, the head honcho of the brand new label Odd Recordings.

The wheel never stops and Ramiro is constantly evolving, involved in many projects, collaborating with great artists.  His highest desire - to make people live and enjoy what they listen to while he is at work in the booth, keeps him busy on the road touring all around the world. Ramiro Lopez is without a doubt an important part of the new wave of Spanish artists and one to bet on.

Another legendary club that closed down too soon in 2015, Vessel was a beautifully designed club in the middle of San Francisco, with a top notch sound system. I always loved to play there, especially open to close sets. This one here is 5 hours long and from February 2015. Today´s show features the third hour of the set. The interesting thing with Vessel was, that it was not a “pure” techno club, actually just a few techno nights were on in this place and I guess, I was always among the most “underground” DJs to play there. I love those kind of challenges, to get a crowd going that is not only there to hear you, but also filled with people who might have never heard this kind of music before, let alone knew who I was. This is why this set is for some of you maybe all over the place and a little more tamed down, but as far as I remember, that night was quite a belter :)  People were always up for a good party in there, no matter what the musical direction. The Essential Mix is a weekly radio show on BBC Radio 1 currently broadcast between 0:00 - 2:00 AM UK time on Saturday morning. Originally broadcast on 30 October 1993, the Essential Mix features contemporary DJs and music producers of electronic dance music. The show has been presented since its inception by Pete Tong and features an uninterrupted two-hour mix from a different artist each week, overlaid with occasional continuity announcements delivered by Tong. With a broadcast run in excess of 25 years, the Essential Mix is one of the longest-running programmes in the current BBC Radio 1 schedule, and is one of very few Radio 1 shows which is not broadcast live.
