Beneath the laughter is a great album, I still have my vinyl copy.

An indie pop rock song that explores how I experience reality. Is it just a blank canvas that I fill with projections from my mind? A hall of mirrors reflecting my thoughts? Are my perceptions reliable or are they created from biased beliefs and interpretations from my experiences?

Daydream with a Night Theme

I wrote this song in June 2025. Recorded it on Logic Pro X. All vocals and instruments by Steve Axell. Inspired by the idea of how much faith we put in promises and expectations, from relationships we form, to the money we rely on and the beliefs that we create to give us a level of certainty and security. It can form the basis of our lives, or we can live in each moment, without expectation or dependence.
