Been playing music since I was about 12 years old. When I was even younger I sat at my dad's side while listening to him play an old standup piano. Must have been at least a hundred years old...the piano, not my dad. All the weird blue paint was chipping off from when he tried to make it blue years back and it was revealing a beautiful walnut wood. He set up in our garage, but it wasn't really a garage anymore. It was converted into a day care/nursery. The walls were still lined with his clutter and tools and nic-naks (this was before you had to have an immaculate environment for child care apparently). Every day he would sit down and play boogie woogie music, while the kids would run around dancing. Sometimes he would play records too. I just remember feeling so mesmerized by the intricate sounds and warm tones of it all, and I ended up becoming really familiar with sounds and melody from a very young age. I always loved hearing records over and over again (my dad was born in 51, so he had tons of classic goodies). Music is a true passion, healing force, and continual pursuit of mine. I'll be old and shaky some day with a tune in my brain, and hopefully a guitar in my arms.
