DJ Steve Sherwood first began listening to electronic music in the late 90's when his younger sister unknowingly left a cassette tape with a live set by Carl Cox on the floor of his car.  He quickly fell for the harder side of dance music and became a regular at underground raves held in the Arizona desert.  In the summer of 2000, he moved to San Francisco and was transformed by the diverse local dance scene, which includes parties like Universe, Pleasuredome, Mass, Fag Fridays, and Trannyshack.  After a year of immersing himself in San Francisco's vibrant nightlife Steve bought a pair of Technics turntables off of Craigslist and began crafting his own unique sound that incorporates elements of vocal, disco, tribal, and progressive house with occasional forays into techno and trance.

A decade later he finds himself bringing his signature sound to a diverse set of parties around the globe. Recent appearances include REAL BAD XXIII, Tonker London, Industry, Disco Cherry, PLAY T-Dance, Los Angeles Pride, REACH Pride T-Dance, and Gus Presents. Sherwood is also a resident DJ with Bearracuda in San Francisco and has travelled with the party to Vancouver, Los Angeles, and Austin.

In July of 2011, PLAY T-Dance celebrated 10 years as one of the Bay Area’s most popular and longest running t-dance events. Since it’s launch in 2001, PLAY T-Dance has become notorious for its unique and engaging themes, abundant hospitality, unrivaled production values and the most uplifting and energetic t-dance music on left coast.  Thousands of men (and even some women) have flirted, frolicked and danced to their favorite t-dance tunes, spun by world-class DJ talent including Susan Morabito, Paul Goodyear, Joe Gauthreaux, John LePage, Lydia Prim, David Knapp, Andy Almighty, Ted Eiel, Rob Kaftan, Warren Gluck, Reed McGowan and Pete Savas. Getting dressed up for one of PLAY T-Dances themes is one of thee most anticipated local rituals with popular themes like Glow Party, Sports Gear, Pajama Party, Fire Island, Pig Party, Prison, Camp PLAY Military, and USS PLAY Navy/Sailor. The hospitality at PLAY T-Dance, unsurpassed by any event, includes a huge fruit, candy and gum table, massage therapists, greeters and hosts, as well as mouthwash and sterile hand wash in the bathrooms.  Even after 10 years PLAY T-Dance continues to grow in popularity and Past Curfew is committed to taking steps to continue to build on its legacy.

In July of 2011, with the help of Two Knights Event, PLAY T-Dance premiered in Seattle with Northwest favorite, John LePage. Look for PLAY T-Dance to return to Seattle soon.

In August of 2011 PLAY T-Dance was the official closing party for Lazy Bear Weekend with San Francisco Bay Area favorite DJ Russ Rich.

2012 will be the year of the local up-and-coming DJs featuring some of San Francisco’s and Seattle’s best new talent. Look for dates featuring DJ Steve Sherwood, DJ Craig Gaibler, DJ Russ Rich and DJ Byron Bonsall.

Wayne made his dj’ing debut at London’s infamous Red Heart party in April 1996, performing alongside Grace Jones to a dancefloor of over 3,000. However, it was his 9 year residence at London’s world’s famous Heaven Nightclub that made Wayne G a household name. Wayne has gone on to play huge festivals all over the world including Sydney Mardi Gras, Sydney Harbour Party, Sydney Gay Games, Berlin Love Parade, World Pride, The Adventjah Festival, Folsom St Fair, Fantasia in Bangkok, White Party Palm Springs, Angel in Shanghai, Southern Decadence New Orleans, Provincetown Pier Dance, Winter Party Miami, Gay Days / Wonder World Orlando, Hong Kong Pride, White Party Miami, WinterPride, Provincetown independence, Destination in Beijing, Hell & Heaven Brazil, San Diego Zoo Party, Whistler Ski Week, Trip in Phuket, Connections in Perth, Big Gay Day in Brisbane and the prestigious Fire Island Pines Party & Independence Day Party.

Over the last few years his travels have taken him to clubs globally from Mexico City to New Mexico, from Sydney to Shanghai, from Johannesburg to Juneau and from London to Lima. Wayne is also a resident on the Atlantis cruises.

Wayne G’s production and remixing skills have been much in demand, his credits include remixes of tracks by Cher, Madonna, Lady Gaga, Kylie Minogue, Katy Perry, Christina Aguliera, Celine Dion, Backstreet Boys, Deborah Cox, Whitney Houston, Darren Hayes, Jerry Springer The Opera, Kelis, Olive, Holly Johnson, Jimmy Somerville, Andy Bell, Belinda Carlisle, to name a few. Remixes over the last few years alone have included Ariana Grande, Sia, Katy Perry Kei$ha, Swedish House Mafia., Icona Pop, Carly Rae Jepson, Nelly Furtado, Australian Idol winner Samantha Jade, Luciana, Erasure and most recently Tamia, Conrad, Clary Brown, Kathy Sledge, Jess Glynne, Wrabel and Charles Perry. Wayne was also the official remixer behind the Tony winning musical Kinky Boots, putting his midas touch to 2 tracks from the show. His own label, Bennu Recordings has worked on original productions with a range of artists including: Debby Holiday, Alison Jiear, Shauna Jenson and Peyton.

His recent productions have included output on a number on the following influential dance labels; Fierce Angel, Hed Kandi, Flawless Recordings, Tommy Boy, Centaur and Almighty Records.

Wayne has also worked with artists as diverse as Tony Award Winner ‘Levi Kries’ on his single ‘Be Alright’, Darren Hayes on his beautiful single from 2012 ‘Bloodstained Heart’ to Dolly Parton on her classic ‘Peace Train’.

This year Wayne G was inducted into the Just Circuit Hall Of Fame for DJ/Producer/Remixer. Nominated alongside Ralphi Rosario, Dave Aude, Barry Harris, Victor Calderone and Billy Carroll

Averse to categorization in any one particular musical style, Wayne takes crowd on a musical journey starting with house, electro, tribal, tec and anthemic vocal house and bringing the energy, percussive beats and the uplifting infectious riffs seamlessly together to create a melodic, high energy journey. His sets are notorious for being filled with his own productions, many of which remain unheard unless you get to experience on of his marathon sets. From the Hard House sounds of EDM to the funky sounds of classic house. He is a DJ/Producer that has no boundaries and no limits.

Alex Hemmings - Goodgreef Tall Trees Anthems Part 2 - Hard

Very few can boast that they created a ‘Classic Trance Anthem’ in their studio but that accolade is one of many that Steve Allen can claim!

During Steve’s time as the producer and DJ within the project ‘Allen & Envy’, Steve managed to create a number of global hits including ‘Silhouette’, ‘Stole The Sun’, 'Don’t Say', ‘Home’, ‘Rush’, ‘Rescue Me’ and ‘Kardia’. He created regular music for Armada, Black Hole, Future Sound Of Egypt, Garuda, Flashover, Pure Trance and his trance has been championed by the likes of Armin Van Buuren, Aly & Fila, Paul Van Dyk, Solarstone and countless others.

Now as a solo act, Steve’s debut solo album “Uplift” released on his own label of the same name (a sub label of Raz Nitzan Music), topped 2.4million Spotify plays, and he has produced countless chart topping hits such as “Broken Child” “Frozen River” “Skyfire”  and his collaboration with Paul Van Dyk “Fairytales” featured on Paul’s “from Then On Album” 

It comes as no surprise why Steve’s productions have dominated the Beatport charts for the last 6 years with his ‘Allen & Envy’ project reaching Top10 status on Beatstats Artists, and as a solo act more recently reaching number 1 for a total of 5 months. A chart of the highest charting acts on Beatport over a 12 month period!

Steve’s talents aren’t just in the studio, playing his productions at the worlds biggest events is something that drives and motivates him. One of his peak experiences being when he played a producer set at the launch of “Transmission Melbourne” in front of a sold out 8,000 fans!

The list of international dance hubs goes on that Steve has played having reached fans in LA at Exchange, Ruby Skye of San Francisco, Soundbar in Chicago, Room 680 in Melbourne, FSOE in Taiwan, Tranceparade in China and Transmission in Bangkok!
