i found this funny review on "me" the other day on CHICAGOREADERdotCOM. 

"SKISM - At the top of his SoundCloud page, Berlin-based producer and DJ Skism has written, "Move on, no dubstep here. I even hate it." That's a pretty brutal sentiment, especially coming from someone who made his name with big, stuttery beats and wub-wub-wub bass lines. It does happen to more or less sum up the underground dance scene's current opinion of the style as played out, though. Abandoning dubstep looks to have been a good move for him because, to be honest, he was unremarkable at it. But he shines on the mixes he's posted to SoundCloud over the past year, which pile up unlikely combinations of Italo-disco, Krautrock, psychedelia, and some kind of fardled funk shit that sounds like a bunch of hippies locked in a studio with a Moog, a mess of percussion instruments, and about a hundred tabs of acid. — Miles Raymer"

dear miles raymer, thanks for the fairly good impression of what my mixes feel like, but here's the big bummer: i'm not the dubstep-skism you're talking about. that guy just chose the same name and probably would hate to be mistaken with me. at least i do. musically.


by the way: if you see me behind the decks on a party, don't get confused - that guy next to me is neither a deck shark nor a drunk that's getting on my nerves. it's most likely wunderwaffel, who's my dj partner most of the time.
well, the last sentence was kinda untrue. he is drunk and getting on my nerves. but he's a good guy with a great musical taste.
if we play together i switch my name to wasn. just to confuse everyone even more with names.

Rodion is from Rome. Mixmag/UK called him the “new genius of Italian Dance music”.
Rodion makes extremely emotional freaked out electronic music that’s ahead of its time. Somewhere between the depths of cosmic music and synthesized funk, mixed with the dramatic melodies of Italian horror movies. Heavily influenced by soundtrack composers such as Morricone and Goblin, by the Japanese science fiction animation soundtracks of the 70’s and by classical music and balearic club culture, Rodion is fully tuned into the extraterrestrial beat.
In 2007 the boy from Rome released his debut album 'Romantic Jet Dance' on Gomma which became a favourite of DJs such as Prins Thomas and the DFA crew. During the last four years Rodion' singles and remixes on Gomma, Eskimo, City Slang, Bearfunk and MBdisco (where he remixed his majesty GIORGIO MORODER), brought Rodion's sound into the playlists of Franz Ferdinand, Erol Alkan, Francois K, Andrew Weatherall, Aeroplane, James Holden, Cosmo Vitelli and many others.
After collaborating on his 'For Ever EP' on Gomma (2010) with superstar crooners Louie Austen and Jeppe Kjellberg from Whomadewho
in 2011 Rodion released spacey 12" singles on Nang, Eskimo and Bang Gang DJs together with fellow club mates Bottin, Francisco and Golden Bug.  In 2012 it has been the turn of two exciting EPs on La Belle from Paris and Slowmotion from Berlin, made in collaboration with maestro Fabrizio Mammarella of Clap Rules (Tiny Sticks, Bearfunk, DFA) and the sexiest doner man on earth, Khan of Finland.
Rodion is also one half of the sweaty duo ALIEN ALIEN, together with Hugo Sanchez: in 2011 they released their debut 'Black Guru' EP on Slowmotion records. Their SAMBACA number quickly reached the kinkiest ballrooms all around the world, became a queer hymn and got featured in many compilations, including "Body Language vol.12" on Get Physical records.
Rodion played live and DJed in many of the best clubs around the world, from Moscow to Paris, from Berlin to Istanbul, from Mexico City to New York, Shanghai and Kuala Lumpur.
So expect him to sooner or later visit a ballroom close to your hometown...
