The first of a series of "variations" in which I get a melody from people important to me, and write a piece using that melody. The idea is inspired by Edward Elgars "Enigma Variations", hence the name "Variation I".

This melody is provided by, Sarah Shoemaker.

Instrumentation:

2 Pianos (It's written for 2, but can probably be played by 1).
2 Violins
1 Cello
1 Double Bass
