A dynamic duo returns to Joris Voorn and Edwin Oosterwal's Rejected: Steve Bug and Cle. Two old friends who get together with no other motive than to have fun on their machines and dig deep into the art of groove creation.

Their collaborative fusion is a tried and tested combination that goes back almost 20 years with tracks like 'Behind TheCurtain' and 'Monkey Shoulder'. It continues to this day, with much of their collaborative output landing on Rejected, including huge heaters like 'Together', 'Tweaky Blinders', 'Flying Keys'. And now these two wonderful late night monsters: 'The Rave' and 'Butterflies Speak Poetry'.

'The Rave' is the sound of Bug and Cle flexing back over their old Berlin stomping grounds like Planet and E-Werk. Armed with swinging percussive beats and classic ravey detuned synth tones, it's that perfect sweet spot between heritage and futurism, rooted in the foundation but still with its head in tomorrow.

For added sweetness, dig deeper for the profound sounds of 'Butterflies Speak Poetry'. An intense exploration of 303 funk, this one is all about the acid lines and how they intertwine and flutter between each other to create another timeless slab of deep, dark matter funk. Every bit as free spirited as both butterflies and poetry, it's another precision combination from the long-standing Rejected duo. Long may this dynamism continue.

One of the key tracks from DJ Pierre’s recent album on Get Physical receives a single release with a fresh new remix from French house artist Djebali.

DJ Pierre is of course one of house music’s key protagonists. From inventing Acid and Wildpitch Style to turning out classics like ‘Master Blaster’ and ‘Love And Happiness’, he has done it all. Get Physical proudly released the Chicago artist’s first ever studio album in November last year, and now offer up the 2017 remake of ‘Fall’ in all its glory.

Djebali is the cultured deep house producer from France who runs his own eponymous label. His jazz tinged sound is stripped back but atmospheric and warm, but here he goes bigger. His version of ‘Fall’ is a full fat and bouncy roller. The vocals are slimmed down to add little soulful flourishes, while the riffing chords bring plenty of colour. Celebratory but subtle, it is a fine rework.

The 2017 remake is a brilliantly heavy track with forceful drums and wailing vocals that really ring out and induce a state of euphoria. Ravey stabs and warped acid sounds build the pressure and a twitchy breakdown with laser synths and big claps is a moment to catch your breath before the whole thing kicks once more and explodes the club into action.

These are two different but equally effective weapons that are sure to find favour on global dancefloors in the months to come.

Moscow returns for its 26th release with two long-awaited originals courtesy of label boss and founder Archie Hamilton.

Lead track ‘Waisted’ is a vibrant and rolling dance floor ready weapon, a powerful slice of the signature Archie Hamilton sound and groove geared for peak-time energy. ‘Quicksand’ on the B-side is a blissed out and intricate cut, layered with deep acid spirals and glistening vocals.

Following on from a steady and successful string of releases on the imprint last year including Argy’s ‘Sing It’ EP and Archie’s collaborative ‘Swerve’ EP with cousin Benson Herbert, this year marks Moscow’s tenth year of pushing alternative sounds since 2009.
