For our third show (which aired on NYC's MyHouse Radio on Monday 20th January 2020) we handed over the whole two hours to our dynamic duo and jewel in the BLD crown, Pookie Knights.

Hailing from Wrexham in Wales, Pookie Knights have been with us from the very early beginnings of Black Light Disco and are firmly part of the BLD family. To see these two play live is an experience that shouldn't be missed. Their sets are always full of raw, disco energy and that energy has translated seamlessly into their own productions. With their first release out on Spin Cat Music, it's only a matter of time before you'll see Pookie Knights topping the likes of Juno and Traxsource download charts.  

Their two hour show on MyHouse Radio was a pulsating, throbbing disco juggernaut featuring tracks from The Reflex, Chewy Rubs, Lip Ino, Ari Bald, Shit Hot Soundsystem, Stephen Richards, Dirty Channels, Tech Support plus many, many more!

Black Light Disco Show on MHR - Monday 20th Jan 2020 - Pookie Knights

Smashed Atoms aka Steve Gladdis has been making warm underground disco nuggets on the sly for the past decade gaining support across the board. His sleek production skills have gained respect from the likes of Greg Wilson, the Paper Records crew and of course Fingerman and his Hot Digits Music imprint. After the runaway success a few years ago of “Cut This Way” on the label, Smashed Atoms returns with his most accomplished work yet, the “Moving Parts EP” featuring Crazy P style disco anthem “Lifted” featuring the one and only Kathy Diamond on vocals. Its a warm beautiful song about the power of a good beat and what it feels like to be literally Lifted off the floor. A possible future classic. The release also features a sleek Dub Version for those who prefer it. 
Then we move onto more mid tempo deepness with Smashed Atoms teaming up with the mysterious Backdoor Man for “ All The Time”, a perfect warm up track with smoky indie vocal stylings and cheeky nods to 80’s retro lyrics. Hot Gorilla’s Andy Buchan steps up to remix the track for the final cut taking the brooding vocals into more Indie Nu-Disco territory with awesome analog stabs and flurries.

Black Light Disco returned to the MyHouse Radio airwaves in style on Monday 16th November with an all-residents double header from our deadly duo Goz and Esteban. 

Goz gets proceedings underway with a spectacularly funky, chunky 'double-dip' of the disco hummus at the BLD dance floor buffet, kicking things off with an outrageously good rework of a familiar KT Tunstall track. 

Next up, Esteban serves up an hour long boogie blancmange that switches between old and new tracks and shifts the setting from disco to Latino and back again. The folk coming to party (virtually) with us here at BLD Towers loved the vibe and the chat box was on fire.

I'm back and doing my usual thing in the first hour this week, with a mix across the BPMs, a good few genres packed in and a couple of oldies alongside some promos and fresh sounds. 

In hour 2 it's my great pleasure to welcome Stephen Richards from Waterford, Ireland on guest mix duties. Stephen knows a thing or two about disco, being an esteemed producer, great DJ and the mastermind behind the excellent Disco Daze show - one of the best shows out there and my personal go to for keeping up to date with the newest and best disco releases.
