I wrote this for my Composing & Arranging coursework. 
It's about a magnificent King who fights off the enemy to grant him and his people the right to be the first to climb Mount Draconem... But does all go according to plan? What's that? Unexpected conflict resulting in a story arch?! You better listen to find out what happens!

-INTRO
In the ancient times of the dragon
Their power was lusted by men,
So they retreated to where only they could fly,
And they named it Mount Draconem

-VERSE
What a sight to behold,
He is feared by all gods, new and old!
Angels cry for him while demons die for him,
His soul can never be sold!

Watch as he kills that dark mage! 
And locks that dragon... in a cage!
Curses rebound on him, dragons are fun for him!
He'll win us Mount Draconem!

When no hope remains,
You feel like you're going insane!
Hither he comes, astride a great stallion!
The pride of your side is maintained!

The enemy lies on the ground,
He stands addorning the crown!
Thanks the gods! Our lands and towns!
We're safe for miles around!

-INTERLUDE
But upon return...
To the homelands of the brave.
Thousands lay on the scarlette ground, 
They were the men he could not save!

Like the fall of a dragon slain, he realized what occured.
The height of the fight had blurred his sight, this is all so obsurd!
It must have been a decoy, so the enemy could make their way,
They snuck away to Mount Draconem, our families they did slay!

He rallied men by the thousands, then
He turned away, with fire in his eyes,
and he climbed Mount Draconem!

-OUTRO
A long and weary climb, up Mountain Draconem
Treacherous trolls and an army of dragons brought our thousand down to ten!
Higher they did climb, and the louder they became,
After centuries of silence, the ancient Dragons roared again!
