Pour une fois j’avais juste envie de faire un truc différent

Je ne suis pas la reine de la prose ni celle du slam
Mais j aimerais juste poser mes idées là.

J envie tous ceux qui ont des choses à dire
Qui ont tant de facilités à écrire le fond de leurs pensées…délavées ou exaltées.
Les miennes ont bien du Mal à se poser sur une feuille de papier
que je parte à l’aventure un dimanche
Ou à l Aube d une semaine pourtant pleine de belles promesses.
j en ai bien des soucis moi aussi
Mais Leur mise en mot est difficile.
Il est plus simple parfois de s’ allonger de ne rien faire que de les coucher sur du papier.
Est ce que ça sonnerait peut être mieux en anglais? C est une question que je me pose même si écrire dans cette langue m indispose…
Alors je glisse quelques mots comme ça pour faciliter ma prose…

Mais bien souvent rien de mon stylo ne coule.
Il me faudrait peut être l aide d un sorcier
Ou d un coup de baguette magique qui aiderait dame inspiration à se réveiller
Mais où vont ils bien chercher toutes leurs idées ?
Pendant que moi je me vide de toute substance… latente, redondante,ennuyante.

J envie tous ceux qui créent des chansons
Comme on fabrique des maisons
Qui en sortent des airs par million
qui osent étaler si « facilement » leur prose
Pendant que moi je ne peux rien faire à part… « getting bored ».

Tiens, je vais peut être activer la fonction dictée
En voilà une bonne idée!
Et chanter quelques da da da qui pourraient bien sonner
De quoi mettre un peu de sweet dans mes idées…

I envy all those who have things to say
Who have so much facility to write the bottom of their thoughts...washed out or exalted.
Mine have a hard time landing on a sheet of paper
That I'm going on an adventure on a Sunday
Or at the dawn of a week full of beautiful promises.
I have a lot of worries too
But their wording is difficult.
It is sometimes easier to lie down and do nothing than to lay them on paper.
Would it sound better in English? It's a question I ask myself even if writing in this language makes me unwell...
So I slip a few words like this to facilitate my prose...
It is so beautiful to be a fool and to make everything sounds "cool",
But often nothing from my pen flows.
I might need the help of a wizard
Or a magic wand that would help lady inspiration wake up
But where do they look for all their ideas?
While I empty myself of any substance... latent, redundant, boring.

I envy all those who create songs
How we make houses
Who come out of the airs by the million
Who dare to spread their prose so "easily"
While I can't do anything except... "getting bored".

And sing some da da da that could sound well
Enough to put a little sweet in my ideas...

Radio airplay on Fresh FM and the TLC network from 2005. The track IS THIS WHO I THINK IT IS was a finalist in the 2009 NZ MLT songwriting contest.  In Dec 2012  DUNEDIN SOUND reached  no. 26 on NZ on Air "The Audience" chart. In December 2015, RIP OFF THE SCAB and DREAM DESTINATION were selected by a US A&R agent for promotion to artists, In July 2017 - HIGHEST ROOM also picked up by a US agent for promotion. July 2018 DON'T YOU TURN AWAY selected by NY agent to promote to a London soul singer. August 2018 LOVE MY LIFE assigned to BuyNZ audiovisual advertising. December 2018 WHERE CIGARETTES FALL forwarded by Taxi.com to US TV music director. Latest 3 albums seek to marry singer songwriter Imagery with multi-harmony musical movement. 2024 FLOATING INTO WONDER and ECCENTRICITY SO BEAUTIFUL got airplay on a New Foundland radio station. Dec 24 FAKING IRONY and CAUGHT UP IN A WAR have have gotten a foothold in Spotify.
