Purista del vinile, dj e collezionista dal 2001, Steve Murphy si è fatto conoscere come selezionatore di electroclash, house con beat meccanici e sonorità pop, come peraltro testimoniato delle sue produzioni. 
Apprezzate e proposte da artisti che spaziano in ogni ambito della musica elettronica: Laurent Garnier, Carl Craig, Mount Kimbie, Skream, Legowelt, Boyznoize, Virginia, Nastia e Moxie.
La sua carriera da produttore è iniziata nel 2011 con la prima release su Chiwax, dopodiché ha lavorato con label come: Wilson Record, Hot House, Domina Trxxx e Lobster Theremin. Il 2017 segna la nascita di Metal Position, etichetta fondata assieme a Dj Octupus, orientata a sonorità electro minimal. 
Dopo aver ottenuto l'attenzione di diversi promoter europei ha calcato palchi del calibro di: Tresor e Renate di Berlino, Corsica Studios e Oval Space di Londra, Batofar di Parigi, Goa Club e Rebel Rebel di Roma, Sound Department di Taranto, Closer di Kiev, 101 di Clermont Ferrand e Mosaique di San Pietroburgo.

Il mixato che segue è un estratto registrato al Thursdaysdeep a Campagnola di Brugine (PD), situazione creata da Status Und che ogni giovedì sera da 15 anni a questa parte apre le porte del suo studio e permette al pubblico di ascoltare i suoi djset o quelli di qualche ospite.

Despite his artist name and his trademark sound, Steve Murphy does not come from Chicago, but from Mira, a little town on the suburban area of Venice. Steve has been djing since 2001, and in the past years has been rocking almost every club in his region. He is serious and professional behind the decks: playing only with vinyl, he blends electro and house, techno and new wave, acid madness and pop appeal.
Steve has produced together with Die Roh an album ("The Chasm") and one e.p ("Windy City") on Chiwax, and a solo 10" ("Planet Earth") on Rawax; these records have been fquickly gone out of stock and that have been acclaimed by the lovers of the
classic Warehouse sounds.
In 2012 he has started the Riviera project and has founded the Muscle Records label, together with Lucretio, Dj Octopus, Caio, Madì Grein and Chevel. The label is a facility to spread what has been called "the sound of Brenta": a raw, nasty, machines powered clash of house and techno.
In 2012 he also released "The Dove Ultimatum" on Vae Victis Records, under the moniker of Durant: an unfriendly 12" of distorted electro and funky acid beats produced with Die Roh and Lucretio.

"I made this mix especially for Save Our Sound, to reflect and look back at the golden times of Electro Clash and the early 00’s scene that was a huge inspiration and the starting point of my career as Break 3000 and later on as Dirt Crew when moving from Maastricht via Cologne to Berlin where I still live nowadays..."

Berlin based Break 3000 has been a DJ since the early 90’s and is looking back at over 25 years of DJ and Production experience now. Releasing on labels like KK Records, Nova Zembla, Meuse Muzique, Pocketgame, Trapez, MBF, Mood Music and of course his own Dirt Crew Recordings. Most recently launched "Electron Feel" to revisit and re-release old goodies from his vault and in 2023 started to work with new up and coming labels “Calypso’s Dream” from Argentina and “Mondo Phase” from Italy to do special vinyl only re-issues of the classic big hitters and unreleased Electro/ Electro Clash tracks from the early 00’s Era. Nowadays the approach to his own music and DJ sets is anywhere between Electro, House and Disco.
