Just in time for the onset of winter, Dan Thorman’s mix is here to keep us cosy. A soft blanket of healing sounds in muted tones and gentle textures, Dan’s mix is a beautiful story which provides a quiet comfort: an insulated cocoon of warmth to retreat into.

Dan is someone who gives some of the best hugs going, and always smells amazing too. He’s a kind and sensitive soul, with an easy laugh and excellent taste in music. He has a real gift for making everyone around him feel brighter and happier, and his mix is no exception. A perfect soundtrack for curling up on the sofa with a steaming cup of tea, and a good book 🕯️🧡

The mix builds up from subtle drifting mists, into glistening tones and resonant chords. Evolving at an unhurried pace, and in a delicate manner, as one track morphs into the next, washes of sound dissipate into the fuzzy notes of an organ, or the muted hoots of an owl 🦉🍃

Rich in acoustic instrumentation and sounds from the natural world, it brings to mind looking through a fogged window at trees being buffeted by strong winds, or the last light of sunset seeping away behind a hill. The mix draws to a close with a cerebral drone, slowly waking us from a mesmerised trance, and leaving us feeling both rejuvenated and restful. Born and bred in Australia's creative capital, Melbourne, Tamara Kiti (@dj-kiti) has remained at the forefront of the local electronic music scene for over 20 years. Kiti's love of music started from a very young age; she was an avid record collector, a classically trained flautist and a keen club kid, making her the diverse and eclectic DJ she is today.

For the majority of her tenure, @dj-kiti has been a staple at some of Australia's most prolific parties and frequently receives the call to support some of the world's most renowned international artists, including DJ Hell, Marcel Dettmann, Nina Kraviz, Matrixxman, Dopplereffekt, A Guy Called Gerald and Kevin Saunderson, to name a few.

His radio sets explore experimental electronics and psychedelia while his live sets wade in and out of _wave, post-punk, electro and techno. He is a member of Strange Weather, a music and art collective connecting the dots between contemporary electronic music, deconstructed traditional motifs, subversive symbolism and sweaty dance floor hysteria. Alongside his peers, Yadin Moha is steadily pushing these fringe sounds in living rooms and dance floors across Asia.

Technosynthesis

Sama Yax is a born collector. To begin with, she collects origins: between Bilbao, Barcelona and  Madrid with Mexican roots, she has lifetime of research. Of course, she collects records: especially house, soulful, acid house, disco, Latin, Afrobeat, Brazilian music and jazz. Also experiences: resident of the mythical Barcelona club Nitsa, she is part of the Discos Paradiso family and has become an essential personality in Barcelona’s nightlife. She has played her sets at national festivals such as BBk Live!, Soundit!, Brunch Electronik, Rit/Mo, Ameba Parkfest; as well as in clubs all over the Peninsula such as Razzmatazz, Café Berlin, Siroco, Don Giorgio, Dabadaba, Mondo Club, Les Enfants or La Terrrazza, where she premiered her first date as curator of her own Mentha party with international guests such as Shanti Celeste and MVRIA.

She has also been part of local parties with an international perspective such as Baaang!, Draft, Drop or Homies at the emblematic Pikes in Ibiza. She has crossed borders with her sets, taking them to Passos Manuel (Porto), Lux Frágil (Lisbon), KinKin Club (Guadalajara, Mex) or Renate (Berlin); and even accumulates milestones: in 2019 she closed Primavera Sound together with DJ Rosario.
