Musician, producer, and co-founder of DOOMTREE.

The brass-driven, hip-hop funk band Big Village, Little City first formed in New York City in 2016, launched by seasoned underground emcee Forefeather and veteran funk singer Amy Grace. Featuring a fiercely skilled lineup, BVLC is driven by a shared goal to unite people of all backgrounds and perspectives through vibrant, high-energy music that channels the past, present and future. 

BVLC’s reputation as an incredible live act began with their first performance, which took place at the now iconic House of Yes in Brooklyn. Almost immediately their sound, delivery, and vibe became highly sought after in the underground party scene of NYC and beyond, on tour throughout the northeast US and at festivals such as Wanderlust and Gratitude Migration.

The group’s style is a combination of hard-hitting, brass-led funk, virtuosic rap, and jazz-influenced vocals. With a broad range of influences, (from Trombone Shorty to Outkast to Sarah Vaughn to - of course - the Roots) BVLC’s music sometimes ventures from NOLA-funk and hip-hop to the realms of soul, jazz, reggae, r&b, and even doo-wop. Featuring two dynamic vocalists whose lyrics draw attention to the human condition while masterful instrumentalists entice the body into the euphoria of dance, the Big Village Little City experience is a uniquely blissful one, whether delivered via audio or live.
