Throughout March 22, when covid infections in the UK reached their all-time peak, Ukraine was under appalling attack, and nuclear annihilation seemed imminent, I was suffering deep fatigue. All I could do was hide away and create music. I started exploring some dark Spitfire Audio 'Originals' and this track evolved that embodied the ubiquitous sense of unease. I've got this project  gradually taking shape that I’m calling 'Funk', which experiments with groove and bass, and melodic and moody jazziness, and this sits right there.

There's a well kept secret in Milton Keynes known as the 'Cathedral of Trees'. It's a plantation of trees designed to mirror the layout of Norwich Cathedral. This resonated with me because although I live in Milton Keynes, I spend a good deal of my time in Norwich and know that city like a second home. I saw the Cathedral of Trees as a symbol of the power and beauty of the natural world and Norwich Cathedral as a symbol of the power and beauty of human civilisation. This piece is about the juxtaposition of the two. 
This is another piece realised using samples; I'm looking for instrumentalists and singers who could beat life into the piece, to release later this year.
