I actually like the vocals there got a  they might be giants feel as do the lyrics 
An idea when 
Doing vocals is to double track so sing a section and then go straight back to that section and sing it over the top of it again trying to mimic the same pattern with the first Pat going you can get a little bit of harmony discombobulation which tends to get your voice to pitch a little different could you hear the other voice and those little bends that you’ve got your voice? You might clean up a little bit or actually manipulate to sound a little bit phased idea I’ve used my stuff and it’s my try just to get used to it short sections. You wanna try phrase it spot on but I said leave the other voice going as it’s going to change it not it was harmonise but yeah it doesn’t work or any more ideas how to do it let me know.
