Early views on the function of The Brain regarded him to be a form of “musical stuffing” of sorts. In the small town Risør on the south coast of Norway, The Brain was regularly removed, for it was soccerplayer Erik Mykland that was assumed to be the seat of intelligence. According to the Artist himself: ‘The most perfect practice is to extract as much of The Brain as possible with a home recording studio, and what the music cannot reach is achieved in unconscious dreams.’ Over the next years, his views will be acknowledged through the newly released album "Senses". Musically exploring all five senses in seven startling tracks The Brain is now the seat of intelligence, although colloquial variations of the former remain as in “Myggen”.
A distinction is often made between The Brain and musical group The Park, and there is some controversy as to their exact relationship, leading to the Brain-Park problem. The Brain is defined as the drummer within the band, responsible for all rythmical/percussive processes. The Park, however, is seen in terms of all other attributes, such as guitars or keyboards. Some believe that The Park exists in some way independently of The Brain, such as in a soul or epiphenomenon. Others, such as strong AI theorists, say that The Park is directly analogous to computer software and The Brain to hardware.

Sleepyard is a psychedelic pop band from Norway. Oliver Kersbergen formed the band in 1994 to record the first demo "Velvet sky". Later on brother Svein joined in and they started playing concerts.
The band released the minialbum “Intersounds” on their own label Orange music in 1998. This was hailed as one of the very first post rock albums from Norway.
Sleepyard released “The runner” on trust me records (2003) and contributed music to the movie Monsterthursday, which was nominated for best foreign film in the 2005 Sundance film festival. Next album "Easy Tensions" saw the band reaching for a more mellow and richer sound. Their multi tracked vocal harmonies reminded critics of the Beach Boys and drew comparisons to the psychedelic sound of Smile.
On their latest album "Future lines", the band has collaborated with Pianist Mike Garson and Sonic Boom from Spacemen 3.
In 2010 the band collaborated with Jim Shepherd of The Jasmine Minks and released a 7" Down Tangerine Road on his Oatcake Records. The band have now completed a version of Chocolate river for an upcoming Sky Sunlight Saxon tribute album
The band is working on a new album called Black sails which explores a more electronic sound. Collaborators are Dawn Smithson (Jessamine, Low Places, Sunn O)))), Mike Garson (David Bowie), Geoff leigh (Henry Cow), Christiaan Webb (The Webb Brothers), Suki Ewers (Mazzy Star, Old Toy Trains) Bo Chung (Old Toy Trains) AND MORE TO BE ANNOUNCED.
