Calming Harp Episode #5

In this episode we will hear one of Shirley's stories - The Shepherd's Story - and understand how the harp and story are such an effective media for understanding the Gospel. This story is the first one we ever did together and it is what got us on the road 15 years ago. Calming Harp Episode #6

In this episode we will hear another composition from the album - All Nature Sings - this one titled Thunder. I recently posted a YouTube video using this music as the background of photographs that my wife and I have taken of clouds and storms during our travels. The video is called "Harp and Thunder" 
I also have included a composition from Psalm 100 which is a coronation psalm and have included some sound effects to give it a feel of a crowd bringing a king into the city through the gates. I think it's kind of fun - I hope you enjoy it too.

Calming Harp Episode #7

This episode will introduce the music of All Nature Sings album and the Night sounds. There is something about going outside in the night and listening to the different sounds from insects to owls and then looking up into the heavens and observing the myriad stars to see. The second song is from the album Living Water which is a compilation of the Psalms from 90 through 100 which are traditionally thought of as the Psalms of Moses. This piece is Psalm 90 and I have used some keyboard to back up the harp.

Calming Harp Episode #8

This episode will introduce the music of the Psalms of Aliyah album and the system that I use to bring the music notes transcribed from the Hebrew text of the Psalms. Someone said that I had "decoded" the Psalms and I guess that's true, but I have had a lot of help along the way. Dr. Leonard Horowitz and Dr. Joseph Puleo had a hand in introducing me to the hidden clues in the scriptures which gave me the notes but I then took the notes and began to make music with them on the harp. I pray you are blessed.

Calming Harp Episode #9

In this session we will be looking at Psalm 125, 126, and 127 - all Psalms of Ascent or in the Hebrew "Aliyah" - Songs of coming up. There are 15 Psalms of Aliyah written by David and one by Solomon that were used in the daily worship services of the temple as well as being sung by the pilgrims as they would travel up to Jerusalem 3 times a year for the annual feasts. King David was a worshiper and his music and words still echo today!
