THE NEW RELEASE FROM LUNATIC SOUL & RIVERSIDE'S CREATIVE GENIUS MARIUSZ DUDA 

‘Walking On A Flashlight Beam’ is the brand new album from Lunatic Soul due to be released through Kscope on 13th October 2014. 

Lunatic Soul is the solo project from Mariusz Duda, the creative force, lead singer and talented multi-instrumentalist behind Poland's Progressive Rock shooting stars Riverside.

‘Walking On A Flashlight Beam’ is the fourth album from Lunatic Soul and follow up to  2011’s acclaimed ‘Impressions’ album and comprises of almost 64 minutes of brand new music.

Commenting on his new opus  Duda says  “These are very dark and intense compositions but very melodious too. I think it’s one of the best things I’ve ever written, if not the best one”.

The first single & video due to be taken from the new album will be for the track ‘Cold’.

As with previous Lunatic Soul albums artwork was created by the renowned cover artist Travis Smith who has previous created covers for the likes of Opeth & Riverside.

ORIGINAL Citation (Oct 2014): Rosetta’s Plasma Consortium (RPC) has uncovered a mysterious ‘song’ that Comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko is singing into space. The comet seems to be emitting a ‘song’ in the form of oscillations in the magnetic field in the comet’s environment. It is being sung at 40-50 millihertz, far below human hearing, which typically picks up sound between 20 Hz and 20 kHz. To make the music audible to the human ear, the frequencies have been increased in this recording. Here's an alternate version of the song "Into The Sun" from Dave Kerzner's "New World". It's semi-acoustic or "half unplugged" with an emphasis on scaled down acoustic instruments at the forefront embellished with ambient electric instrument sounds with the absence of drums. This version is featured on the exclusive Kickstarter Box Set Bonus Disc and may appear on a forthcoming "Half Unplugged" compilation. 

It features guest vocalist Heather Findlay (formerly of Mostly Autumn) who Dave shares another project with called "Mantra Vega" and Colin Edwin of Porcupine Tree.

It's safe to say Hackman's got a fair amount of bangers in his closet. From the bassline driven 'More Than Ever' to the Alicia Keys-sampling 'Close' to the funk-swinging 'Change My Life', the Bristolian's output's been exquisite in the last six years. 

The list of labels he's released on is impressive, too, from Well Rounded Records and Greco-Roman to Futureboogie and 20:20 Vision. He's just added Halocyan to that with the 'Semibreves' EP, and there's a couple of heavyweight remixes from KiNK and Timo Maas.

The second remix for 'Index' was created by Necro Deathmort.  Despite their name, NDM aren’t an East European death metal group (!) but an English electronic music duo, of whom I am a big fan, so I was very happy when they agreed to do the remix.  It originally appeared as a bonus track on the digital single release of Postcard in 2012.

The first remix for 'Index' was done by Pat Mastelotto of King Crimson - Pat is the drummer on the original studio version and did a beautiful job, exactly what I wanted, but in his words…

"I saw a YouTube clip of one of your early shows and Marco was drumming up a storm and I thought damn that's what I wanted to do!  But as a session man on the original track it felt self indulgent for me to send you back a brilliant song with a 'drummer goes nuts' treatment when the song clearly stands on its own as chords and a great story it didn't need it.  But it was always in my head it could be Dave Grohl does Mike Giles over the bar line never stop drumming ... I had the multi tracks so said what the hell let the horses run and see what I can do….”
