The deep playa is a direction, not a place. What began as a bike ride into dusty darkness became something else altogether. Sirens Podcast 003: Ciaran

Taking inspiration from the sound of early synth-wave, post-punk, alternative rock and left-field house, Ciaran clashes upbeat synth melody with dark techno undertones, delivering an ever evolving sound that fills your heart while taking a bite of your soul in the process.

Once an Olympic runner, covering thousands of miles from the deep forests of the Pacific Northwest of the US to the high elevations of the Arizona red rock trails, music was for many a journey Ciaran' only companion. Removed from art and music in his youth in the pursuit of a dream to be the world's fastest mile runner, those long solo hours spent traversing trails for nowhere gave space and countless hours to form a bond and oneness with the collision of indie dance, eclectic and cosmic new wave.

From there a style was born not from traditional music language but formed from connectedness with the earth, breathing, rhythm.

This was my very first time playing a set for a festival, on Saturday at Umbrella Weekend in Jacumba, California. My burning man camp "Found it!" hosted a stage at the festival, and I also provided my Void Acoustics System for the stage.
