DJ Adam Ant(Adam Smith) was born to a southern Baptist minister and a Jamaican nun in the small town of Poughkeepsie, New York. After running away at the age of 8, Adam decided to train surf the BNSF railways all the way to Texas. After spending months hanging from the axles of trains, Adam suffered PTSD from the constant sight of spinning train wheels. As part of his therapy, Adam began working with turntables at age 12 to conquer his fear of round rotating objects. Now an Austin based DJ known for his unique style, DJ Adam Ant blends elements of hard hitting trap and smooth melodic breaks with the nostalgia of hip-hop anthems. True to his humble beginnings mixing at house parties, DJ Adam Ant creates a familiar and high energy experience that accommodates any form of dance. Although he has moved on from the house party circuit, DJ Adam Ant can still be found mixing as the resident hip/hop DJ at The Madison on 5th and performing as a guest DJ at 512 and Karma in downtown Austin.
