Notes for myself:
- Tried to keep some of the motifs from the original reference track to connect them logically, but overall tried to reframe it to be creamier and subtlely grandiose with the bass and reverb
- Sparkly zither-sounding pluck on the top to give it a different / magical feel
- Spent way too long trying to figure out why that pluck sounded really harsh, turns out OTT was too much and saturation worked better for that
- Similar to keeping motifs, I also kept some of the same instruments, and only changed out a few of them to keep consistency with reference track(removed percussion entirely though since I wanted a less whimsical feel)
- Took the key up whole step from the reference track so that the transition between the two gives you a bit of a lift / ethereal feel
