So, here we go again with a new release every week, an organic year-long album that will develop and flourish throughout the year.

These tracks are all rough mixed and no mastering - as I said "they're RAW". Some of the music may make it into my official Fine Tune Records release and get that final polish!

It begins in a haze — a drifting patch from the Novation Peak sets the mood before the bass locks in and the conversation starts.
This is a swirl in the truest sense: synths bouncing off each other, tossing questions, answers, interruptions and asides. A little chaotic, a little cheeky — like a late-night jam where nobody’s quite sure who’s leading, but everyone’s deep in the groove.

Born during a livestream in Berlin where I shared my daily creative process — morning splurges, afternoon jams — this track has haunted me ever since. I’ve been chasing the magic of that original session, and this version finally gets close.
It’s a deeply personal nod to my early days playing in South African bands, shaped over time through countless live improvisations.
The first two and a half minutes paint a slow, sunrise over the savanna — warm, open, and unfolding. Then the groove lifts, and suddenly you’re in the thick of it: an African band in full swing, rhythms locked, spirit high.

Savanna Soul

The opener sets the vibe for the whole album — jazzy at heart, but with a firm foot on the dance floor. Anchored by a droning Moog bass and an off-kilter Buchla Easel lead, it straddles the space between heady improvisation and deep groove. The acoustic piano hints at my jazz roots, shaped by years playing with Cape Town’s township jazz bands — and sets the stage for the keyboard-driven journey ahead.

All That Jazz

Some tracks just flow — this one practically wrote itself. From the very first Spurge (my musical version of morning pages), the dub techno influence was baked in. Deep bass, spacey textures, and of course, my trusty Rhodes electric piano — laying down dubby stabs and jazzy riffs that float around the groove. It's a classic slice of the Pottz sound: loose, alive, and soaked in dubby echos.

The album closes with a tribal jazz workout — a driving rhythm section underneath glitchy piano licks and plucky synth leads. The groove holds it all down while the piano gets as Loose as F$%k (if you're wondering about the name).
