Bang Bang - Melodic Deep House

The first episode of the brand new @dune2069festival was an absolute vibe! Incredible staging, sound, chill spaces and line-up of music and performance. Huge thanks to all the artists and crew. I was honoured to be included in this line-up of local talent, and we were treated to some excellent music all weekend!!!

This set was played from 2.30-4pm and is a vibrant Afro House / Tribal tech mix. The second track "Love Her Madly" is dedicated to the beautiful and capable, Juliette Smit who worked so hard along with Youri, Leandro and Keeton over two years to make this event happen. Gratitude and respect for the dedication and creativity!

The 3rd release for 2024 and this one was mixed under very trying circumstance whilst travelling in Colorado - all I had was my noise cancelling airplane headphones.  So mix quality will be a little suspect I think.  Still, the weekly deadline has to be hit.

Back for the 5th year - It's that time again.  When I start up another R.A.W. album.

I started the R.A.W. (Release A Week) concept in 2021, where I would release a track to BandCamp every week. 50 tracks for the year..

These tracks are all rough mixed and no mastering - as I said "they're RAW". Some of the music may make it into my official Fine Tune Records release and get that final polish! Others remain a record of my creative process throughout the year.

RAW25_01 Before We Burn

Born during a livestream in Berlin where I shared my daily creative process — morning splurges, afternoon jams — this track has haunted me ever since. I’ve been chasing the magic of that original session, and this version finally gets close.
It’s a deeply personal nod to my early days playing in South African bands, shaped over time through countless live improvisations.
The first two and a half minutes paint a slow, sunrise over the savanna — warm, open, and unfolding. Then the groove lifts, and suddenly you’re in the thick of it: an African band in full swing, rhythms locked, spirit high.

This track was produced through the process of Live improvisation in a Live Stream (to YT, FB, Twitch).  I take a track idea that I generated months ago, play around with a few ideas for where the track might go, and what elements I can use for jamming, then press 'Go Live' and see what happens. What an exquisitely divine moment in my music career.
It was such an absolute joy to perform a live cello/dj set on Burning Man's esplanade as the sun went down Friday night, with friends smiling and dancing in the crowd, people on their bicycles drawn in to embrace my deep grooves and an epic display of beauty splashed across the Playa. 

In 2018, Freestyle Palace hosted me for a sunrise set and I was so thrilled to be welcomed back to play for them again.
