Jo Johnson has been releasing music and organising events since the early 90s. She is a regular performer at Freerotation festival in the UK, and organises electronic music events with Bleep43 in London. Her debut solo album, Weaving, was released on Further Records in 2014 and has been described as a modern classic.  Her latest solo release, The Wave Ahead, came out earlier this year on Brooklyn-based label, Mysteries of the Deep. Jo also collaborates with pianist and composer, Hilary Robinson, and they have a live album, Session One, on 9128.live (a sub-label of A Strangely Isolated Place).

The title track follows with more serene floating pads complete with chopped oldskool breaks and speaker thrashing bass stabs. Fear Factor takes all of Starski's trademarks sounds and production techniques and whisks them in a blender rammed full of amen breaks, heavenly sounds and pulsating bass. The EP ends on the delightfully relaxed rhythms of Fuquitted, where breakbeats and melodies sway in unison to create a soothing end to this new EP of deep beats.

Heavenchord & Amanita Phalloides - For Jon Hassell

The title of this album is derived from the concept of poetry according to William Wordsworth, who described it as nothing more than an "emotion recollected in tranquility." Tinkling, soft, vibrant sounds and granular synthesis predominate the compositions in "recollected in tranquility". Together with field recordings captured in nature, these sounds weave serene and meditative soundscapes. The author's intent is to transport the listener to a state of utmost peace while captivating their ear with a tapestry of pulsating and organic sounds. The tunes and tones unfolding in these seven tracks paint an imagery of a delicate blossoming of springtime and whisper of floral nostalgia.
