In these hot summer days, some fresh wind to cool us down. Thanks to my friend @georg-boehme who, despite his many commitments, participated with his fabulous saxes.

Former biathlon Olympic champion Laura Dahlmeier has died on 28th July 2025 while climbing in the Karakorum. A rockfall hit her at high altitude at Laila Peak while she was on the road with her rope partner. Rescue operations were greatly complicated by the dangerous situation.

This tune was supposed to be published with another title and with vocals. It was not finished yet, neither was the life of Laura.

Williams works in a team of workers preventing suicides. Without judging and with a lot of compassion he try’s to save lives but it is a tough job and sometime depressing. How long is he be able to hold on to his mission.

Musical notes: This is a variation on John Barry's theme for the 1971 TV show The Persuaders!. It is a challenge that my colleague and great composer Serge Smulders gave me. I could not resist as that TV show was one of my favourite those years. However, may I say that John Barry synthesized version of that time is now a bit outdated. Nevertheless, a classic is a classic hence revisiting it.

"Ah! Sun-flower" is a poem by William Blake, published in his collection Songs of Experience in 1794. The poem explores themes of longing, weariness, and the human desire for something beyond earthly existence, using the sunflower as a symbol.

As I mentioned in another recent song post, @dough-factory and I have collaborated on a bunch of music in years past. This is the second recent song from us, eventually to be included on an upcoming album. 

Ryan came up with the original drums and bass seed of this song, sent it to me and I laid down some guitar and synth. He then arranged the pieces and added a killer vocal track. He also gets credit for the production work on this one. Thanks for listening, friends!

My mum always played the piano in her slippers, her mother did not want her to damaged the instrument.  She even took her slippers to the Guildhall School of Music and Drama exam, she thought everyone played the piano in slippers. So I recorded a favourite track of hers, in one take, which I was very happy with, though I did shed a tear as I put my slippers on.

The music for "Blueberry Hill" was composed by Vincent Rose with lyrics written by Larry Stock and Al Lewis. The song was turned down by another publisher until being bought and published in 1940 by Chappell & Company. The song was recorded over ten times that year.

Today I celebrate. Today is a day of celebration. The day of the 40th track. I have come a long way from the first to the fortieth, a huge journey. There were those who were with me from the first moment, step by step. There were those who stood by me along the way. Along the way, I received support, recognition, and friendship. I will be forever grateful to this community, for everything.
