Empire

[A submission for London Song Company's current songwriting challenge] A track about the flooding aspect of climate change: modern ersatz-Noah shape-up and get nailing. Wanted it to sound like Cate Le Bon meets The Pierces, via ELO's 10538 Overture, but my erratic vox put paid to that. Also as usual, by the time I finished it tonight, after several nights working on it, I'm pretty sick of it and can't remember whether I like it. 

Climate change is happening already and the poor are bearing the disastrous worst of it, in flooding and drought. When Christian Aid Week comes (10th-16th May), it would be great to remember that.

Another Noah

This afternoon Corkivell went on the Babbacombe Cliff Railway. here was NOT a disaster. Later they went for a swim. There was NOT a disaster. Then they came home after some of Corkivell had an ice cream. There was NOT a disaster.

Walking With Rick is the 1st of a new occasional series that may never develop. It is a way to keep in virtual contact with friends. Stories and sharing. Thanks Rick for the walk, it was very lovely.

Walking With Rick - Pt 1

My second walk today with Rick was - as you can see - as eventful as the first. There are actions for this song, and you may need to prepare for this by not going out of the house and collecting all potential items of clothing nearby in case you need to don them when the time comes. Also a musical instrument?
The picture is - of course - by Rick Thorpe - this is the whale in front of Torquay, and was painted just before s/he went up the river Fleet.
