An Andy Weatherall set from 7th January 1993, back when Drum Club was at Soundshaft on Craven St, the back part of Heaven. Someone I knew used to tape sets off the desk and this one ended up in my possession. 
Digitised from a C90 so sound quality ain't exactly stellar but as a record of a set you're unlikely to every hear the like of again, it's top notch!

After having blowing each other’s minds for years with their hard-earned audio finds, Andrew Weatherall and Sean Johnston decided to organize their own club night in 2010 in order to give their sound an outlet. On July 26th both gentlemen came to Trouw together for the first time and gave us an amazing set filled with primitive house, post-punk, dub, krautrock, disco and new beat. We've isolated a couple of hours of this all night long set by the wonderful music connaisseurs for this twelfth edition of the Trouw Live Podcast Series!

It is not everyday we are sent a 5 hour mix from someone we have asked to join our Phonica mix series; but when Sheffield & Manchester legend Luke Una sends one… you have to jump straight into it! Having become first recognised in the late 80’s and 90’s as one half of production team “The Unabombers” with Justin Crawford, Luke over the years has shown to be a master in all genres be it Balearic, to Brazilian to E soul, House, Disco and Techno, you name it! With his Worldwide FM show over the years gaining a cult following Luke has gained an even more of a broader crowd from his curation of his E Soul Cultura compilation series via the label Mr.Bongo (Both comps topping our EOY lists in 2022 and 2023). This exact vast taste (that is displayed in these compilations) is very much pummelled into this five hour journey of a mix like a piece of clay and sculpted into a fine piece of art. The quality of our guest mix series remains unbroken with the 3rd session coming courtesy of Andrew Weatherall who has had numerous appearances at our No Strings Attached club nights since the early years.  He always amazes us with the way he manages to capture the full attention of the club during his sets, pushing and challenging the crowd with his avant-garde performances. The long standing relationship continues when he returns next month with fellow slomo cosmic warrior Sean Johnston and this mix gives you a perfect taste of the ALFOS sound.
